I had a wonderful weekend with students from The Walton College of Business as we interacted to understand the US Economy and Politics and shared information about the Indian Economy as well. "It's the night before we meet our exchange students from the Walton College of Business (WCOB), USA. I am eager and nervous to meet them. There are a number of things to learn about them, their country, and many questions pop in my head in anticipation...A week before their arrival, we were divided into groups and an informal session had already begun over emails and facebook. Not just the FIIB students, but the WCOB students were equally eager to meet us...Our journey was an amazing one – it took us from the crowded streets of Chandni Chowk to the plush and exquisite interiors of the Emporio Mall. Our conversations over this 2-day period were very deep and vast...I am appreciative about my foreign mates' curiosity and drive to know more about India, its people, the culture, religions, economy, and politics. Despite the blistering 44-degrees, they kept the conversation going enthusiastically in the rickshaw, in the metro, in the cramped car. No other phrase than 'The Unforgettable 48 Hours' can define my experience with the students from the Walton College of Business over the weekend that went by. I wouldnt have been able to anticipate when I was selected for the exchange program that an interaction opportunity like this would give me insights into not only an unknown American Culture but also the otherwise perceived familiar Indian Culture. 'The two full days I spent with my fellow exchange students as part of a cross-cultural experience offered jointly by both our colleges (FIIB, New Delhi and Sam Walton College, USA) have been etched deep in my memory forever. In order to provide the best of Industry exposure to its student, FIIB hosted the Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing forPagalguy.com, Mr. Soumik Ganguly for two hours long session on Marketing 2.0. In his session, Mr Soumik spoke about the New Age of Marketing, Marketing Analysis, Online Marketing and Content Marketing apart from answering all the questions that students had.
Had challenging FIIB leadership programme Selection challenge today. The panel grilled so much by its questions. But yes, actually felt like a challenge and now more excited for it.
