Life @ Fortune Institute of International Business (FIIB)

Today's session of case study with John Mathews Sir was very interesting. It was a new thing that we learned about, came across different marketing definitions, each definition was very well explained with examples. Then we were made to work in a group and came out with many different ideas .This experience gave us a image of how we can deal with and how important is these case studies as far as real time learning is concerned.

2014 - 2016 batch

Experiencing different workshops especially dramatics ( street play ) workshop was really fun.It was completely a new experience of working with random team members and bringing new ideas together.

Batch 2014-16

Till now its a great experience. There are many activities that college has arranged to make the sessions more interesting like Master chef on the very first day, Gem session,Theater act etc. This college focuses more on enhancing our skills. Hoping for the same excitement to continue during the whole journey at FIIB.

At the initial stage, its really hard to get yourself accustomed into a professional atmosphere where you have to deal with a bag full of mixtures. One generally finds it difficult to open up in front of the others. I take this opportunity to thank FIIB from the core of my heart for organizing such a beautiful orientation session for us in where we were given an opportunity to know each other well by performing various extra curricular activities. Glad to be here.

A student shares his experience from his Pre-Term Week at the Institute:

Orientation week

Two weeks long orientation program comes to an end on 21st June and from 23rd our regular classes are to begin. The induction program gave us the exposure to the MBA curriculum that is being followed at FIIB. We all came to understand the ethics and core values that are the foundations of FIIB. It was a great experience to be a part of orientation program.

We underwent various ice breaking programs that were introduced in order to drive out our fear and hesitation and help us adapt to the FIIB's atmosphere. There were many group activities in which we all took part actively that helped us know the importance of team work and participation. There were sessions on group activities and teamwork where we were asked to form random groups and give presentations on it. It helped us to know our batch mates and improve our coordination with them. From all the activities we did as a team the best and challenging one was the one in which we were given a famous personality name and asked to collect information within 20 minutes from any possible sources but keeping in mind that no two members meet each other in those 20 minutes time frame, except for the fact that we can have virtual communication and then  finally, we were asked to give a combined presentation. It was a thrilling and an exciting task that was to be performed at such a short time.

Apart from these, sessions on case study and financial accountings where also held to give us a brief idea on how to analyse and study these subjects. Having an engineering background it really helped me to make a plan as to how I should tackle these subjects. Faculty members like Prof.  Jones Mathews, Prof Radhika Srivastava, Prof F.M.A Khan taught us the right skills to approach problems on these subjects and now they seem to be very easy to me.

Various industry interaction sessions where organised that emphasised on staying focused on the 2 year MBA program and taught us how we can make the best out of it. Their experiences helped us understand the magnitude of hard work that would be required when we will be inducted into the industry after 2 years. We also learned as to what corporate world expects from us and what skills we need to inherit in order to be a good manager. Listening to their experiences and achievements we felt inspired, motivated and now are filled with enthusiasm to work even harder to achieve our goal.

Finally, the induction program ended with a session by Dr. K.B.C Saxena who represents FIIB as its Dean and asked us to be prepared for a rigorous MBA program at FIIB.
