It Feels as though I am posting after years on PG...thoroughly missed PG 
The 1st 2 weeks have been quite eventful at GIM. Life is like a roller coaster....Getting a feel already how fast my PGDM would get over at this speed
It started with the rigorous selection procedure( had almost 4-5 rounds) to get into the Placement Committee.Followed by the Mid-Summers Nite , wherein the PGP1s perform to entertain the PGP2s .Its Compulsory to perform for each and every individual. PGP1s were at their best showcasing their talents - Dance,Drama,Music,Mimicking et al.
This was followed by the Freshers party at the IVY lounge till 3 in the morning.
Post this life has been whirlwind here - Presentations,case studies, lectures and more case studies ......
As i write this post some guys have their selection process for joining the Alumni Committee..which may go on till 3-4 in the mornin
An MBA its a 24 cycle......the campus never Sleeps .
Sleep is a Luxury!!!!!

Hey Vidya this is not the right thread to direct your Question...this thread is for the Bschool Students...As for your Q work ex is not must in any of the Bschools in India except ISB...Its preferrable not mandatory in all the rest

(For those who don't know me, i passed out from GIM in the year 2008 and i am currently employed with HUL. Ppl ini the placement cell might/can know me through Ninette!
Now a days life @GIM is quite helter-skelter with half of junta staying at old campus and rest at new campus... but we will be all together pretty soon... 
I am late by 3 weeks.. However better late than never..
Amidst a lot of hopes, speculations, excitement and apprehensions, this day has finally arrived I am in a B-school, Goa Institute of Management. As the new campus @ Sanquelim is shaping up, few of the PGP-1 guys are staying at the old campus @ Ribandar. Though staying here means 2 hours of commuting for the next few days, but its a great experience to have our seniors (PGP-2) around, interact with them, know and appreciate the GIM way of living. All of them are really helpful and supportive. And it has been a great experience so far.
Coming to the campus, most of them might be aware that the old campus (Santa Casa De Misericordia) has a legacy of its own and the new campus at Sanquelim, once completed, would undoubtedly be one of the best b-school campuses in the country. Right now its a matter of just some weeks, but as the saying goes - Rome was not built in a day. The campus is located on a hill overlooking Sanquelim town one side and the Western Ghats on the remaining sides. Never ending stretches of greenery in every direction is a feast to anyones eyes. The classrooms and faculty block look amazing. Hostel rooms, the furniture and other amenities are way above what one would ask for. Those who have their rooms window facing the Western Ghats are bound to fall in love with the nature (if not already) and would wish to get locked in their rooms forever.
and yea, as mentioned by my batchmate.. we had a great time @ mid summers and freshers nite.. and sleep has definitely become a luxury now..

The New Campus is pretty huge...Though some of the construction is going on
The facilities are just awesome.
We have a laundromat,CCD is coming on campus, Already a couple of LCD's r in place in the mess..The rooms are quite spacious with Table,chair,book shelf,soft board,cupboard,bed...and a lot of storage space...I just love my room
A good chunk of work is left which will b done till October
Once done we will b having swimming pool,squash court n lots of stuff....will update u once things r done

kudos to the PR cell, got to experience the Amazing race in the BEAutiful GIM campus which was quite tiring followed by brain-vista selection procedures and submissions.

Thats the present situation at GIM
Stayed up whole night working for my committee 
...then attended all lectures following morning...Also had presentation and Assignments to submit at the same time
Today had Economics Quiz and the following week has mid terms and series of new presentations
Using the word hectic would be an understatement at present

The coming being is gonna be screwing,still loving it.

Updates for this week
Mid terms going on at GIM. Lot of pensive faces roaming around in the campus
One down and 2 to go.Finac was done in the morning,have statistics in da afternoon and marketing tomorrow
People used to luxurious PLs before exams like me are getting screwed big time ....There are no PL in B-schools.
As soon as Mid term gets overs at 10 tomorrow ...we have lectures from 12 till 4...
This weekend GIM has its Annual Event - Samriddhi 2010 Social Media and Business - is scheduled to be held on the 28th and 29th of August, 2010 with three sessions on Day 1 i.e. 28th and a Pan-India B-school Competition - "Buzzz IT". The concluding session will be on Day 2 i.e. 29th Aug 2010.
This years finalist for BUZZ IT are SIBM Pune,IIM K ,SIESCOMS,MICA,IIFT K.
As i said before .....There are no circadian rhythms here....it goes on 24/7 ...365 days a day...

have had a hectic day today after giving a couple of mid terms....and screwing it badly as well..:P.. by the way we are having a lot of EUPHORIA here in the college regarding SAMRIDDHI-2010.... seniors have put in a lot of effort and next year it would be our turn...:)..things are heating up among organizers here who are working hard to keep everything as close to perfect as possible...our PR CELL is in full swing to promote this event to all corners of the country.... and as nikozi told... BUZZ IT finalists are finalized as well..... and all PGP1's are really looking forward to SAMRIDDHI 2010 this saturday and sunday...

Finally the Mid terms over,everyone screwed every paper royally.The post dissection of papers has been over come by the enthusiastic plans of spending Thursday by going to beaches and rejuvenating the spirits:cheers: for SAMRIDDHI-2010.
The ambience is different from the enginnering colleges where people doze off to sleep after exams.Seems MBA wants each one of us to live more of our lives!.

Today we started with Samriddhi.And the speakers really rocked on the First day.It was really an eye opener for many of us who thought that Social Media is just Facebook or Orkut.We had two rocking panel discussions and around 40-45 mins talks by 5 eminent speakers .One of speakers was our own Chuck_gopal .
