hi to glimmers and glim aspirants,
I had just been for the GD and PI, phew it was a stressful and a wonderful experience and a great fun too. my pi went on for almost 45 minutes, with question coming in like diwali rockets in the sky. GD was cool but almost became like a fish market, as most of them wanted to speak out. Altogether it has been a great experience, hope i get through great lakes..............

Can you pls put some light on the GD topic and interview questions....
hi,
abt the GD: we had 2 people in the panel for the GD who had an exerience of abt 43 years each. the topic was abt "Ragging" and we had three questions on a paper given to us abt which the discussion had to be done.
we were 8 of us in the conference room, and we were told tht it would be a 20 minutes GD and exactly 2 minutes before it ends we will be notified. After we were given the topic we were given 2 minutes to read the topic, but no one told lets start ..... i think moderators should tell lets start else how would one know????? suddenly some one initiated although no one said lets start, anyway that was nt a great way to start but thats ok. after few minutes it was a fish market, and one thing i observed was when one person starts speaking he or she never stops and some one had to interrupt to tell their point of view. almost 3 or 4 times i heard people saying let me tell my point. i really think after one person expresses a point he should give chance to others instead of him speaking continuously. For the last 2 minutes one of them summarised the GD.

Abt my interview in next mail bcos i just typed 1 page and i got logged off from this site. so i think it might be because of the length.Anyways
hi abt my interview:
it was super fun and stressful.
1)As i entered i saw 2 people in the panel and 1 student observer, the third person of the panel came after sometime. the first thing they told was ur essays are good and elaborate but brevity is the soul............ and y werent u brief, so i had to convince them tht being elaborate might bring out much better content and its also not writing essays for the sake of it.
2) after this i had questions from
My Acads
My Hobbies
No questions from my work ex/abt my organisation.
Some general questions
Some unexpected questions which made me astonished. i didn t panick for any but found it so cool and funny, almost 15 minutes we all were laughing and we had great fun in the interview, but suddenly they throw some serious question and transform that complete humorous atmosphere to a serious one. that was the best and stressful part of it , i am sure its done to see if we panick.
Regards

Hi All
The Session at Great Lakes has already started with loads of things happening in the last one week. Session started on 19/04/06 wherein we had verification of certificates on the first day.
We started with FOOL (Fun oriented outdoor learning program :)) from 21st April
21st April :We reached Green Coconut at around 10:00 AM and the group was divided into 3 teams. We started with Tug - of -War and after winning and losing a few, we moved in for a few indoor games. Salsa was the next in queue and it was really nice to find out a few great salsa dancers amongst the batch. After a nice lunch,it was time for trekking. In the heat of Chennai it all seemed rubbish, till the time we were actually into it only to realise how much it helped all of us to gel around. After the tiring trekking trip, yoga gave some respite. Dinner and Dance were the next in line and by the time we landed on our beds, we had made a few new frnds:)
22nd April : Started around 8:30 AM with a heavy breakfast. We had a few indoor games which were basically for building trust amongst each other. After Lunch it was time to be in the sun planning how to help the team pass through the the traps!!!!We had two guest lectures to finish the days schedule, after which we danced to glory!
23 rd April : Played some amazing indoor games which at any other time would have sounded foolish, but end of the day they actually brought all of us together. In the evening we moved to Green Meadows for a freshers party, where seniors performed a few dance nos.,skits, and Gl-Oscars(Great Lakes Oscars).
25 th April : Inaugration of 3rd Batch of Great Lakes. Mr Ravi Venkateshan(Chairman, Microsoft India) and Dr. KC Chakrabarty (Chairman, Indian Bank) were the guest of honor. Mr Ravi Venkateshan gave an insightful talk on how IT can be used to solve social issues.
28 th April : Convocation of 2nd Batch of Great Lakes. Mr Adi Godrej (Chairman, Godrej) and Mr KB Chandra Sekhar (CEO and Chairman, JamCracker Inc. USA) Presided over the function. The function was held at Taj Coromondel, Chennai. Each student wearing Black Robe was called on the stage and had a chance to hug Uncle Bala:).After the degrees were awarded to all students, everyone threw their hats in the air!!!!:)
