His Holiness, Sri Sri Ravishankr shall be visting Great Lakes campus today.
There is a great enthusiasm among the entire batch and preparations are in full swing for his welcome.
On 26/11/09, His Holiness, Sri Sri Ravishankar blessed Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai by visiting its campus on a breezy evening to inaugurate MILK (Meditation and Inspiration Center for Living and Kindness). MILK is one of a kind of an initiative undertaken in management institutions to foster the overall growth of an individual.
Gurudev laid importance on practising meditation in our daily lives. He stressed that meditation can bolster you to perform efficiently and effectively. Talking about India, Gurudev stressed how India lacks marketing. Being such a rich cultural and spiritual country, he was sad that India doesnt market itself properly. He listed down seven areas where Indias contribution to the world would be unique. They are Food varieties, Clothes and Jewellery, Ayurvedic medicine, Monuments, Yoga and meditation, Dance and other art forms and most importantly, values and ethics. As the Great Lakers sat stunned listening to the lecture, Gurudev moved on to answer questions from other guests. Answering all the questions with his effervescent smile, Gurudev captured the hearts of all the people present in the hall by his innocuous smile.
Gurudev was accompanied by his sishyas Khurshed Batliwala or Bawa, Director of World Alliance for Youth Empowerment and Vinod Kumar Menon, Director of Sri Sri Centre for Media Studies, director of Sri Sri Institute of Management Studies. Vinod Kumar engaged the audience by teaching them the basic exercises taught in the Art of Living course. The twenty minute silence experienced in a busy schedule of a Great Lakers life was a great soul booster.
People who also graced the occasion were Mr. GRK Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director of MARG group, Mr. Kiruba Shankar, CEO of Business Blogging Ltd and Director of Wikipedia India Musician Prasanna who scored music for Oscar-award winning Smile Pinky and Mr. Rathish Babu, CEO of SAE College in India and is a part of the SAE International chain of colleges, the largest media college in the world.

hjaythekiller SaysMr. Manohar Parrikar, Ex- Chief Minister of Goa shall be delivering Guest lecture on Leadership : Good Government & Management at 5 PM today.
Mr. Manohar Parrikar, Hon. Leader of opposition, Goa on Leadership, Good government & Management.
Executive Director Prof. Sriram opened the session with his eloquent display of warm welcome to the guest. He remarked that the decision to enter politics for any individual shrinks in relevance and the individual belittles politics, for the image that the field has gathered over years is anything but pretty. He showered praise on the guest for such an audacious decision.
Mr. Parrikars speech began on a note of flirtatious humour, oscillated through the trenches of bureaucratic imagery and political despondence before finally resting on the firm shoulders of his talk on leadership. I told my ministers; Finance and Education sectors would rest with me. Former everyone clamoured for, agreed after thorough examination of pros and cons but later no one cared for reminisced the speaker of his first day in office as CM. Responding to a question from the audience, speaker asserted that Education precedes population in the list of priorities for the progress of our nation. Education rips past every other parameter and sits right on top, such was the firm contention of the speaker. In referring to Bureaucrats, the speaker claimed that Bureaucracy is the water in that glass pointing to the glass before him, he continued water takes the colour and taste of the politicians.
Through his amazing recollections of adorable short stories, he observed that a leader is one who is literate, educated and wise. Through the gripping tale of a herdsman and a consultant, he mimicked the ostentatious outpour of extravagance which could have been avoided. Later, he narrated few anecdotes of his, and through them demonstrated to the audience, the power of leadership with focus. In response to another inquisitive patriot (class of 2010), Mr. Parrikar noted that bureaucrats have to made accountable, and this act he contended, would lead to the progress of nation.
The program ended with Prof. Veeravallis vote of thanks. He delivered it with the charm and candour that the audience has learnt to expect from him.

Its a face off between Alumni and Patriots. Lets see who comes out victorious.

Chotu a small five year village kid is innocently staring at a school
gate, where his little friends are playing. He is also eager to play with them,
he also wants to read the books & he also wants to go to school but he can't.
School authorities took away his right to study, villagers took away his right
to play and soon God will took away his right to live because he is HIV
infected kid."
Such stories are becoming common in India. But at the end the only
question that comes to mind is, what is Chotu's mistake? Why has the society ostracized him? Will society ever accept him?
India has among the highest number of persons living with HIV/AIDS
in the world today. There are more than 5.1 million individuals infected
with HIV in a population of over 1 billion people. The prime reason for the spread of this evil is lack of awareness.
Lets come together to drive this message back home to as many people as possible.
This was the message when over a dozen patriots marched to Lattur in their fight against HIV. The story unfolds...
Date: 13-12-2009
Time: 10 AM
Mission: To make the residents of Lattur village aware of HIV.
Commander: Venkat Yellapantula
