"Actions speak louder than the words". With this notion SMART Committee of IMS Ghaziabad successfully organized a video making competition where PGDM Students educated the society through videos portraying social causes and depicting the current social evils prevailing in the society.

IMS Ghaziabad feels proud in sharing that our PGDM Student - Parikshit Khanna from 2014-16 batch has been selected at IIM Calcutta in the Semi-Finale of B-Plan Competition. Parikshit would represent IMS Ghaziabad at a global platform where he would be presenting his Business Plan to jury of International Investors, Entrepreneurs and Professors. He has secured this position after several rounds of sturdy preliminary elimination while competing with more than 2000 teams participated in the event. The winner would receive the sponsorship of 50 Lacs to initiate the business plan. Whole IMS Fraternity wishes Parikshit good luck for his passion and enthusiasm and praises his budding steps in the field of entrepreneurship.

Institute of Management Studies Ghaziabad in association with Bombay Stock Exchange organized a national seminar on'Financial Awareness and Skill Development'on Saturday, January 31, 2015. This seminar was organised, keeping in mind that financial literacy is one of the highest priorities for corporate world. Financial literacy is a shared responsibility of the industry, government, and academia. This seminar also focuses on developing the entrepreneurial competencies and skills, including basic start- up knowledge, business planning, financial literacy and managerial skills.
The National Seminar was organized under the stewardship of Shri Nitin Agarwal, Chief Patron & Chairman IMS Society; Shri Rakesh Chharia, Patron and Managing Trustee, IMS Society and under the able leadership of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Convener and Director, IMS Ghaziabad. Dr. Vidya Sekhri and Dr. Neeraj Sanghi were the Co-conveners of the seminar.
Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director IMS Ghaziabad welcomed the dignitaries with the floral greetings. In her address, she highlighted the importance of the financial literacy as one of the highest priorities for management professionals irrespective of their areas of expertise. She also emphasized the need of entrepreneurial skill development for the budding managers.
Mr. Harbinder Singh Sokhi, Manager, Investor Protection Fund, BSE and Mr. Rohin Ralhan, IPF Secretariat, BSE, were the experts of first technical session.Mr. Harbinder Singh Sokhi addressed the gathering about key aspects of functioning of the Capital Market and investors' safeguards.Different aspects of security market activities including do's & dont's for investors, trading & settlement and risk management have been thoroughly discussed through interactive session.
In the second technical session Professor MMP Akhouri, Former Executive Director, NIESBUD and Amway Chair Professor - FMS Delhi University with vast experience and rich knowledge provided the participants with the understanding of entrepreneurial skills, resource management, managerial competencies and compliance. He also focused on the importance of basic start up knowledge and business planning. He expressed his views on strengthening the capacity and desire of individuals to start up their own enterprises and to develop an entrepreneurial culture in the society.
Highly renowned and reputed dignitaries from various industries viz. Mr. M L Arora, President, Ghaziabad Small & Medium Scale Industries Limited & Chairman - Supreme Group of Industries, Vinay Gupta Executive Director, GMA, and renowned experts from academia were part of the inaugural session in the programme. Seminar witnessed more than 300 participants from various academic institutions from Delhi NCR.
