MET Annual Convocation for MMS and Part time MBA was held on 23rd February, 2019 in MET Convention Centre. Mr. Vivek Krishnani, MD - SonyPictures Limited was the Chief Guest on this occasion who motivated the young managers with wise words. 

During the ceremony students were also recognized with Pragnyavant #awards for their outstanding overall academic performance on their individual study programs. Over 550 distinguished Guests, Staff, Family and Friends attended the ceremony to share the achievement of all Post-graduates. The ceremony was concluded with Dr. Vijay Page, Director General - MET Institute of Management encouraging them for a successful career ahead.

MET Institute of Management launched its maiden ‘Start-up Accelerator’, Incubation and Entreprenuership Cell in collaboration with a global accelerator experts - CBA Ventures. The association was announced jointly by Shri. Pankaj Bhujbal, Trustee, MET, and Mr. Devang Oza, India Head, CBA Ventures, in the presence of Dr. Vijay Page, Director General - MET Institute of Management, Mr. Thomas Yi, Chairman - Cross Border Associates AG (CBA), Seoul (South Korea), Mr. Manish Oza, Director - CBA AG (Switzerland) and Mr. Dongwook Suh, CEO - CBA Ventures (South Korea).

The Incubation and Entrepreneurship Cell at MET aims to inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship & provide incubation and mentoring support to budding entrepreneurs.

The MET - CBA association, would serve as a global platform for Indian companies startup looking to expand globally through its global partner CBA Ventures. MET - CBA Accelerator would probably be the first of its kind professionally run ‘Acceleration Hub’ in the country designed to offer professional support to budding entreprenuers for early stages so to help them become global companies

MET League of Colleges held the MET Annual Convocation for PGDM, eMBA batches on 9th March, 2019 to celebrate the achievements of graduating students.
The convocation began with an invocation ceremony, and was declared open by Dr. Anil Khandelwal, Senior Advisor – KPMG, and Former Chairman & Managing Director – Bank of Baroda. Dr. Anil Khandelwal motivated MET’s new graduates through his eminent speech.
As the graduates received their degrees, the parents and MET faculty beamed with smiles and pride in their hearts. During the ceremony students were also recognized with Pragnyavant awards for their outstanding overall academic performance in their study programs.

As a part of the 30 years celebration of MET, the MET Schools of Management hosted a talk today, 16th March, 2109 by Mr. Chandrashekhar Tilak, Executive Vice President – NSDL on the subject “Budget 2019 and Beyond – A Different Perspective” at the MET Convention Centre. In his talk, he presented the journey of our economy and unique features of the 2019 Budget. He exhorted the students to look beyond the narrow confines of traditional careers and explore job opportunities in the ever expanding web based service opportunities as well as the shifting logistics paradigm. It was a great learning experience for the MET students. 

MET clinched the HOWZZAT T-20 Cricket Tournament 2019, organized by N.L.Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research. The tournament consisted of 10 leading B-Schools in Mumbai where MET defeated NMIMS and registered a victory as a Champion of HOWZZAT 2019. Passion for cricket, sheer dedication and team effort throughout the tournament ensured a challenging win for the MET cricket team. MET player Shantanu Vartak stole the limelight by scoring 55 runs in 41 balls in the final thus being declared as Man of the Match.

 Dr. Farida Virani, Prof. and HOD - HR and Behavioural Sciences - MET Institute of Management introduced the concept of ‘Human Centered Design Thinking’ through a workshop and mentored projects for Management students at MET. 

The students gained insights to rely on the human ability to be intuitive, to recognize patterns, and to construct ideas that are emotionally meaningful as well as functional.

IMS Proschool in association with NSE India (NSDC National Skill Development Corporation) conducted Financial Modeling Certification course for the Management students of MET Institute of Management. Prof. Avinash Ghalke took the students through series of modules on Finanacial Modeling explaining how to reach optimal business solutions by analyzing various constraints of Operations, Investments, Financing and Valuation.

 MET welcomed the new batch (2019-21) of PGDM (e-Business) on May 27, 2019 during the annual orientation program 'AAROHAN'. The PGDM ‘AAROHAN’ is a 3-day induction program that gives students a chance to meet & interact with prominent personalities from the industry and also to bond with their batch mates, seniors and alumni who have made a mark in the corporate world.
Mr. Paresh Chaudhry, Group President (Corporate Communications) - Adani Group was the Chief Guest on this occasion who motivated the students with wise words. 

MET Institute of Management hosted the All India Management Association (AIMA’s) Western Regional Round of 45th National Competition for Young Managers (NCYM) as its Academic Partner and venue host. The event was held at the MET Convention Hall on 8th & 9th August, 2019. There were teams form leading companies like Bosch Ltd., Tata Motors, Yes Bank Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., GAIL Ltd., Spicer India Pvt. Ltd. presented their corporate programs and strategies on the theme “Smart Organization: Innovative, Capable, Competitive”.

MET Flood Relief Team comprising of students & staff members from MET League of Colleges (MET Mumbai) and MET’s Bhujbal Knowledge City (MET Nashik) visited the Flood Affected Areas in the interiors of Maharashtra with truck load of student kits and aid to provide support for the school going children. 

Yash Shelar from MET Institute of Management participated in the ‘Speak for India’ - Maharashtra Edition 2019 organized by The Federal Bank in collaboration with The Times of India.  It is one of the largest intercollegiate debate competition of the State and Yash has been qualified as a representative at the zonal level. 

As a knowledge initiative to sharpen the business acumen of budding MBAs, MET PGDM analyzed China’s grand strategy that allows them to stay ahead of the curve.
Looking at how China is emerging as a global leader, MET began dissecting the propelling forces of Chinese success story. MET PGDM Dean Prof. Vikas Naik, conducted a case based module on ‘Why China is ahead?’.

Glimpses of the MET Synergy - HR Meet & Panel Discussion organised by MET Institute of Mass Media.
The HR panelists guiding the media students included Roshin Mascarenhas (Network 18 Digital Business & Viacom 18), Mustafa Merchant (Jio Studios), Fiona Machado (Music Broadcast Ltd - Radio city), Elson Sequeira (Madison Communications), Nikhil Natekar (Publicis India), Yogesh Joshi (Reliance Entertainment), Ami Mehta (Digital On the Road) & Amrita Shetty (Triton Communications). 

Students from MET Institute of Management joined hands with the Roti Bank organization, mentored by Mr. Sivanandan, former D.G. Police (Maharashtra), to offer voluntary support at various locations of Mumbai. The MMS students distributed food packets to hundreds of underprivileged school students. This was a part of the Roti Bank campaign to achieve record food distribution for 75,000 underprivileged students on the World Food Day.

MET Institute of Management along with NTPC - India’s largest energy conglomerate, celebrated the Vigilance Week Awareness Program on 1st November 2019, based on the theme “Integrity - A Way of Life”.
Mr. Ravindran, AGM - NTPC Ltd. and MET alumnus Ms. Namrata Narvekar, Manager HR - NTPC Ltd. presided over the event.
The Poster Making, Slogan Writing & Elocution Competition held during the program received an overwhelming response from the students. 

 Jalpa Shah, PGDM (e-Business) Finance 2018-20 batch has been recruited by Google at the record package of ₹ 15 lakh p.a.
Congratulations Jalpa and Best Wishes for an extremely successful career ahead! 

MET alumnus Vishal Patel, currently working as an Assistant Manager at Xanadu Realty, interacted with the MMS Marketing students at MET Institute of Management. He advised students on the finer elements of an interview and gave valuable insights into the working operations & the corporate culture. 

MET alumni Priyank Parab, Systems Manager - TCS and Vivek Pange, Senior Research Associate - GFK teamed up on 16th November, 2019 to motivate, inspire and guide MMS students for TCS placements at MET. They gave valuable insights and key learnings to the students in order to prepare them for GD & PI and to instill confidence for greater success.
