Today, the students of SIIB were fortunate enough to attend a guest lecture given by Mr. Ganapathy of Villgro. The session was all about Social Entrepreneurship and how we as management students can contribute to the betterment of the society by starting our own social venture. He elucidated the importance of young and talented minds getting into social entrepreneurship. The session was extremely helpful and it got a lot of students thinking on how they can bring about a change and transform lives with their ideas.
Sessions like these remind us about why we are here and how these two years are going to be a game-changer. They keep us motivated and help in bringing out the best in us.

A workshop on "Contemporary Issues in Supply Chain" by prominent members from Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM) was recently conducted for the students.
Mr. Mohan Nair, Chairman of IIMM, explained the importance of supply chain in any company by giving field-related examples. He shared his thoughts with students that supply chain has a bright future because it deals with the greatest challenge of managing scalability. Mr. Sujit Edlabadkar, Facilities Manager at Amdocs Development Center India Pvt Ltd, focused on the services sector with respect to supply chain. He shared his views about the contemporary issues which supply chain is facing in the services sector.Mr. Hitendra Admuthe, Deputy General Manager at Racold Thermo Ltd., threw some light on the issues faced by Supply Chain at the grass root level. Mr. Ramamurthy Sitaraman, Asst. General Manager [Supply Management] at John Deere India Pvt. Ltd., put forward two case studies where he focused on customer's experience and value. He gave a valuable mantra to students by saying, "See challenges as opportunities and not challenges in opportunities." Mr. Amit Borkar, working with Linamar India Pvt. Ltd., explained the concept of a manufacturing start-up with respect to supply chain.Students participated in the discussion in large numbers and got valuable insights on the field of Supply Chain Management.

July 29th marked the completion of the 10th year of the Agri-Business management programme in SIIB. In today's world, agriculture sector has unparalleled potential and the Agri-Business management programme has come a long way from the time it was started 10 years back. Today SIIB is one of the pioneers in the field of Agri-Business management.
We all only hope that this positive growth continues and SIIB has much more to give to the development of this sector.
