This off season at MBE,so I don't have any idea about it.But you don't worry,I have to go to Department for some work.Would let you know then soon :)

Well,if you ask me I used to read newspapers and wrote down important news.You can maintain a word file for that.Put the date and important news under it.

I would be giving all DU exams(MBE,MIB&MHROD; etc)....as far as the exams are concerned last time I found the sections pertaining to economics in mbe exam and finance in mfc exam really difficult...cn u please guide me as to how to prepare for these sections...i read economic times last year bt couldn't do much in those sections...dey still continue to haunt me...plz help...

As u r already aware about the difficulty level of the test, let me come straight to the core q. If you find the qs on eco very hard that means you need to brush up the eco gyan. AFAIK the qs are from elementory eco, General economics and current economics covering the latest happening in India and World. SO if you find it hard you need to start from basics.
One way is to read a business paer religiously and to identify eco terms which you r nt aware with and then to serch for that term in wiki or elsewhere to clear ur funda.
It may sound a bit cumbersome but you will get enough time for this as the xam is generaly scheduled in feb so by then most of the entrance tests will be over and u can conc on this. This will help u in GD prep as well.

I request you all to pls keep discussions alive and focused on MBE DU only. There are other threads on PG focusing on different tests. This way the therad will be cleaner and newbies wud not get confused at the same time ur queries will be answered in better way.
Also there is an option of PM on PG. you can direct ur queries through PMs if its personal or one to one :)
For question Paper, There are shops in ber sarai where you can ask for MBE paper. I cant disclose the name on the forum but i know its there. Even if its not available, the shop owner can arrange it provided you ask with dire necessity.
In the eman time if anyone can share the same , well and good but you cant share them publicly its against new PG Rules( no copyright mat. can be shared here).

Every city (Tier I, II, III) has a hub of bookshops and more importantly shops which are specialised in providing MBA entrance material. You just need to trace down. Even if its not you can always get this from delhi. However in the larger interest of the public i'll try to fiure out a way to provide last year paper. In the mean time practice with FMS and SNAP paer which i personally feel are resembling with MBE paper.

Its advisable to see the first few pages of the thread before asking the questions which akready been answered. SInce you are new to PG you might not be well acquinted with the PG.
There is no specific book available to prepare MBE. Neither its available nor you require to. This is like any other MBA entrance just that need some extra GK and stats knowledge and some higher maths q. These all r basics/fundamentals.
Time of prep can vary from one mnth to 2 years. prep time is the function of diffrent factors ( how much time you devote , your IQ, Conc level, you basic knowldge etc.)
Assuming you an avg students who has already started preparing for MBA, you should be prepared in 2-3 mnths.

Thanks for giving us zoom view, but it would be wonderful on your part if you could please guide us a bit informally being a fellow puy, rather sounding politically correct.
After all this is a platform for us to know MBE better and you to spread awareness (which MBE lacks), otherwise if you are here to write whats there on you college website, then whats the purpose of this thread??? Else we can know it from MBE website as well. (Please take it in correct spirit)
Please help us make informed choice, since most of us are engineers and we know very less of economics and its implications to ones career.
Please give us a rough idea at least (if not now then do it when you are allowed to), we want a clearer picture from you, since we trust you more than your website.
I am extremely well aware of PG rules that too since long time, thats why I am asking you for the difference rather comparison (there is a thin line you could have smartly done that), but if you are not comfortable then its fine. NO MORE QUESTION ON THIS.
And finally, your audience has a bigger base than you can think of and not everyone wants to take pain of going to MBE websites nuke and corner, those who do want something different from sugarcoated words there in website.

We are here to help puys out regarding MBE DU realted queries, probs , dilemma ,anything and everything. I appreciate Shruti who has strated the thread very early as MBE xam is generally conducted in feb. However the aspirants should understand that we are always short of time and we get back to u guys as quickly as possible. This because we have been on PG like you guys and can understand the kind of anxiety you guys feel while preparing hard for entrances.
With due respect to you, we have to be politically correct on the forums like PG. we can not say anything publically which may misled others (because it will be our personal opinions and not of other students' or of departmet fro that matter). Still we show you the true picture so that you can choose a course which best suits your career objective and goals.
My personal advise to you is frist clear the test, appear in GD/PI, come of with flying colours and then visit campus to clear all ur doubts.
Im also an engineer like you and so are almost 15% students of my batch and more in current batch so dont worry if you are engineer and its MBE, Even the topper was from engg background.
This is true that info is available on website we try to help u guys to interpret the info better. and i feel that everypne should first try to find the answer of one's query oneselves. If they couldnt we r always here to answer them but our time is as precious as yours.
Placement : Everyone was hit by recession so do we. It was question who hit less. Since as of now we r nt allowed to tell you more i can just tell you that we hit less by recession and has performed superbly having highest salry drawn intact and avg was dropped a bit.
Till now our biggest success was the minimal difference betwn avg and median salary offered which is really a gr8 achievement reflecting that students have got almost equal salary.
Difference betn MIB and MBE is like sumone already said, its quite unfair to campare apples with oranges. However sum 3-4 guys have prefered MBE over MIB, GBO etc because it suited their career objectives better. This in no way means that others are inferrior.

Yeah MFC is completely different from MBE ..Both the courses share same campus but seperate entrance exams.I would request you to rather forward your MFC queries to its thread.

Well! The gateway of MBE, Department of Business Economics for the whole world is its website. Alternative is to visit the campus and meet officials or students
The website is working absolutely fine here. Have inquired to few of my friends and its wrking perfect with them as well. I think theres prob of Active x controls which u can overcoem by enabling it from browser or may be you should change the browser . Try it on Chrome, IE or Mozila. Or just switch from one to the other.
