Pay wise your knowledge is better, bt realise one thing, its hell of job really in IDBI and there weird shift branches of IDBI in bangalore. Even u have to work on sundays beside giving everything for 6 days a week. Cognizant is very good wen compared to IDBI and other banks.24k gets enhanced wen go for a change in job or if u get an Onsite offer, bt the 35k will get enhanced for a decade wen u will be at verge of loosing all fire. One thing to remind you, even SBI wont pay 35k andits jus a fake news abt 35k or else it would be including lease accomodation.Kindly dont get into wrong info, you can contact me wen u need some thing credible abt banks,I have 2.5 yrs exp and wil giv you evry nook and corner abt banking.
35k includes petrol charges...not the leased amount..am talking about mumbai...it's arnd 32-33 in semi metro areas
I am also working in an IT organization and really fed up of doing night shifts ...so planning to leave it ..regarding banking My cousions are working in UCO and Andhra Bank after leaving IT organisations ...I havent heard such a negative feedback abt. back as stated in above posts..may be one is having bad exp. doesnt mean every one will face same...even in IT some ppl are fired and had to leave job in there middle age so for them IT job is bad and some got good opportunities they are njoing it..so it depends upon ones perspective ...regarding work load every job requires effort and if you are joining at some position of repute u need to work hard and handle pressure....No offense to anyone its my view point ...one can decide according to his or her will.

I have loads of my colleagues repenting nw and eyeing on posts in CGL. I advise people to go for a better thing wen u have two options. Banks are hell jobs now and there no mere diff bn IT and Banks.
Everything has pros and cons......but u cant compare a Private job n a Govt. one.....In Private...there is always an air of uncertainty......If u want money only then IT industry may b good 2 u......but d Prestige,power n status in society working in a Govt bank.....u cant find in IT firm......

@mota.bhai ....so u r saying PO is like call centre......then wht abt IT industry.....its all n d same.....in IT also u hv 2 slogged it like hell......I know Im working........n for how many yrs.......abt PO....u wont b a PO for many yrs......in around 5 yrs u'll b a Manager......gather info first n then comment.....

@mota.bhai ....as I have mentioned earlier everything has pros n cons.....everything is like 2 sides of a coin......even in Science u have exceptions 4 every theorem or formula......its just a matter of majority or percentage......there r many people who love being in Private sector....n there r many who like d Public sector......but its d percentage of whichever is more......got my point....
@mota.bhai ......tell me ne job where there is no hard work......its same in Private sector also......in IT sector.....I hv worked on weekends.....night shifts/rotating shifts.....15/16 hrs.....depending on d workload......so its d same......there is no fast growth in IT also.....only a few ....go to project lead or test lead......after 5/6 yrs......so whts d big deal.....Sarkari naukri will always b sarkari naukri...in people's mind(India).....no matter how much u earned....
@mota.bhai ya I agree wid u in this regard.....but its d same everywhere.....n I m comparing PO n IT sector......if u compare PO or banking sector wid other govt sector like SSC CGL then SSC CGL its far more better......they hav less work.....5 days working/ no weekend working.....gud salary......no tension/gud social life......I m talking relatively.....(Bank Vs IT)

Left Tech Mahindra for Andhra Bank and nw left it even. Am jus cautioning you people from IT not to leave those for PO jobs, Banks doesnt really worth it. Dnt make hasty decisions pls. I dint have anyone at tht time to tell the worthy for me.
