NABARD GRADE A 2018

I am frustrated like hell. So so many wrong answers. What the hell I did out of confusion I can't understand. And there are people scoring 130. This life has turned out to be a real burden for me. Can't even take this burden off. I think I will spend my entire life preparing to fail in exams due to mistakes which make me bang my hand. At times I feel I would fail even matriculation if I am asked to appear now. Bloody shit this life has turned to. It is strangling me. It suffocates to be alive now. Someone help me out. Parliament in the august presence of Prime Minister and President passed 101st constitutional amendment rolling out Goods and Services Tax (GST) from 1st July 2017 in the whole country.

It was single most tax introduced replacing all indirect taxes except for few exempted items making India a single continent sized market of 1.3 billion. It was the biggest tax reform introduced in the last 70 years of the country.

Passing of GST has not been an easy journey, which took 17 years in passing after the first step in the direction taken in 2000 by the then Vajpayee government. Since then it passed many hurdles and finally got introduced in 2017.

GST will help almost all parties involved in some ways. It will help consumer as there will be a single tax avoiding taxes on taxes though rates introduced in GST will make few items costlier but for majority it will reduce taxes in the medium term. It will help government as tax collection is expected to increase and as there is single tax, collection will replace many so cost of collection will decrease. It will help manufacturers, traders and service providers, as they will have to pay a single tax, which will be uniform throughout the country. So GST will improve will improve certainty ease of doing business transparency and efficient taxation.

GST will be a single tax, which will be levied on all goods and services value added in the economy exempting few items, which are alcohol, real estate, five petroleum items- crude oil, petrol, diesel, jet fuel and kerosene. Taxes on exempted items will be as per existing arrangement.

Previously there were multiple indirect taxes levied by central and state government according to list given in the constitution. There were central taxes like excise, central sales tax, service tax etc. and state taxes like sales tax, entertainment tax, entry tax etc. These taxes were levied on different items on different stages of production levying taxes on taxes. GST will replace all these taxes. GST has been implemented with five tax rates for different goods-0%,5%,20%and 28%.

There will be three types of the GST: 1. CGST 2.SGST 3.IGST; CGST and SGST will be central and state government’s part for intra state supply of goods and services. Which will go to central and state government almost equally. When there will be a supply of goods and services between two states IGST will apply, which will be collected by central government and shared with the states.

There will be a GST council, formed by Union Finance minister, Finance Ministers of state and other officials, which will be the implementing body of GST. It will decide game rules, fix rates of GST for different goods and recommend reforms.

For successfully implementing GST a vast IT system, known as GST Network has been developed. This system will act as single repository of data of all buyers and sellers, returns filed and input tax credits.

Where GST provides solutions to many problems of tax filing and collection, at the same time it requires tax returns to be filed by suppliers at different frequencies. Noncompliance to frequency and norms will attract penalties, interest payment for tax liabilities and noncredit of input tax credit.

GST as a single indirect tax is envisaged to provide a Philip to the economy. It will boost country’s ranking in ease of doing business as it will bring transparency in the taxation. It will ultimately result in decrease in tax rates of the goods and services which will help to decrease inflation. It will help suppliers, as taxation will be transparent and efficient. Government will be benefited as it will reduce collection cost and increase collection also.

Therefore to conclude it is truly a revolutionary reform since 70 years of independence benefiting all parties involved. It will be government’s responsibility to remove all irritants to make it successful initiative. India being the 163rd country to implement the GST has to ensure compliance to rip benefits of this. It will affect life of every Indian from rich to poor and young to old.

Cutoff Analysis and Prediction (Based on #experience and #whispers of my li'l birds)

1- ARD section- Inclusion of some GA related questions

Effect- Cutoff rises 2-4

2- ESI & GA sections- Highest scoring sections

Effect- Cutoff rises 3-5

3- Reasoning+ Quant section- more or less the same

Effect- None

4- Computer section- A few vague or confusing question likely to bring negative marks

Effect- Cutoff falls 3-4

6- English section- This section may play spoilsport with 50% very easy questions and 50% diffcult- my wager is:

Effect- Cutoff falls 2-4

5-  Large scale absenteeism- Even in a prime centre like Noida there was atleast 30% non appearance of candidates(my li'l birds told me); might be because of other entrances in proximity (last time exam was in Aug) or the rising diurnal temp

Effect- Cutoff falls 3-4

Final Verdict

Cutoff 2018

= 106.25

Dear Dhondhu

How are you? I am well and hope that you will be same. I got your letter yesterday in which you have asked how to improve the productivity of your land and increase your income. So I am writing in reference to your letter.

Friend, I know that you have 1-acre land on which you are cultivating crops and vegetables. As day by day,  Inflation is increasing so it is not sufficient for you to fulfill all your need with this much amount of land. But one thing which you can do is that you can improve the productivity of your land by different methods and with the help of different ongoing government schemes. First of all, if you do not have made Soil health card then go on the site of agriculture and farmers welfare and register your details. Once you get your soil health card then you will be aware of so many things about the nature and status of soil in your field like it suits for which type of crops, recommendations for different nutrients needed and soil amendment required for optimal yield. You can also get benefit from other government schemes like PMKSY( Pradhan mantri krishi shinchayee yojna)-you can irrigate your land with the help of this scheme, PMFBY(pradhan mantri fasal bima yojna)-you can get insurance of your crops at less premium against any disaster.

There are so many schemes for farmers from which you and all your farmer friend in your village can get benefitted if you are aware of all these current schemes. You can also start Aquaculture in your only pond and with the help of allied sectors like dairying, horticulture, beekeeping simultaneously with agriculture, you can earn extra income without too much increase in input costs.

Friend, I am always ready for any kind of help which you need. Hope that you will implement what I have suggested to you and increase the productivity  of your field and finally your income.

yours affectionately

Ashish Kumar
