NABARD GRADE A 2018

Just a heads up for the prospective mains candidates, as someone who has previously appeared for RBI and NABARD mains. The common mistake adulating novice candidates make after clearing prelims(due to qualifying nature of prelims) is they speculate about the difficulty level of Mains compared to the prelims and prepare accordingly to QUALIFY in the Mains. In reality, the level of Mains ain't too high when compared to the prelims, but what cuts the deal is the LEVEL OF COMPETITION. So you may have qualified in the prelims by decent enough preparation and a little more hard work might get you through Mains as well. But getting selected finally is a whole new  ball game. ONLY 92 candidates will finally end up with a job in their kitty.

Bottomline: Don't just prepare according to the difficulty level of Mains. Prepare for the intense COMPETITION. Merely QUALIFYING ain't enough. You got to get SELECTED. Bring on your A game!

Whether Computerisation leads to increasing Unemployment in India?

275 words

Please Give feedback and improvements

In India, Every year, close to 1 crore people are coming out of formal education system and are seeking suitable employment in their respective field. However, our country is not able to employ each and every person in the Labour force. According to Census 2011, the growth of unemployment is close to 9% during the 2001 to 2011 period and unemployment rate according to NSSO is 2.8%. There are various factors to the unemployment. But whether, the rapid computerisation is main factor or not needs a deeper insight.

Computerisation or automation helps in reduction of verticals in organisation and thereby reducing paperwork and red tapism. Further, both private corporates and government departments give importance to Automation because it is a one time fixed capital expenditure. Whereas formal employment needs to be provided with social security benefits and wages in form of revenue expenditure. Also, automation results in reduction of time and increase in productivity. Hence, big corporates particularly in services sector like finance and pharma where India has a greater advantage are moving towards capital expenditure in form of automation with increased retuns instead of Employment. This leads to increase in unemployment rate

However, Computerisation is not the major factor for increase in unemployment. Even with government initiatives like National Skill Development Policy and SANKALP and Strive, Indian labour force lack the skill set required for international exposure, particularly for Secondary and tertiary sectors. This is strengthened by India’s rank in Human Capital Index which is 103 lagging behind major developed coutries.

With world moving rapidly towards, Industrial revolution 4.0 focusing Artificial Intelligence, India must expedite Structural transformation of its workforce thereby overcoming the impact of computerisation.

National Health Policy of India

Recently the government of India has come up with a new and comprehensive National Health Policy. This policy is significant because it has involved the multi-dimensional approaches to deal with various health issues in an integrated and comprehensive manner. The national health policy has adopted the convergence model and also seeks the people participation in the implementation of the various health programs.

This policy is unique because it has incorporated the Right based approach in the field of health care. It is also significant for seeking public private partnership under PPP model, in order to improve the health infrastructure.

Further, the national health policy, advocated to increase the health expenditure up to 2.5% of GDP. This will lead to enhance the health care system in India and will reduce the out of pocket health expenditure of the people.

Apart from these, the national health policy is not only limited to improving health care but also includes the prevention measures and mass awareness. Therefore, it has adopted the people participation model.

In the line of the comprehensive national health policy, the government has launched several health schemes. It has recently amended the Maternity benefit act to provide 26 weeks maternal leaves to all pregnant women. The Pradhanmantri Matru vandana schemes, National rural health mission, janani suraksha yojana etc are the significant initiative to achieve the targets under national health policy.

The national health policy has set up some impressive targets to reduce the maternal mortality to the level of 100 and Infant Mortality to 25. It will also seek to stabilize the population by achieving the replacement rate of fertility e.g. 2.1%.

Nevertheless, the success of the national health policy will depends on the effective implementation of various health schemes. A better monitoring and evaluation mechanism will insure the success of the program
