Were there no summer placements in IIM Nagpur or what or are they really pathetic?..The seniors are not sharing even some brief info about it!..like some big names that came and all.This aint posting a positive picture about the institute!
An Open Letter To My Mentor Institute
Dear IIM Kozhikode,
I am indeed very honoured and feel proud to write this letter on behalf of first batch of IIM Amritsar for being a great mentor. I want to express my deepest gratitude for believing in us and giving a strong foundation to the batch. You have been an excellent guide, mentor and a great inspiration for all of us. You have inspired us to pursue our goals with hard work and dedication.
While getting selected for the new IIMs last year, it was tough to decide which IIM to take for the PGP. While most aspirants must have looked at the location and the ranking of the mentor institute, which seemingly were the major criteria at that time, I preferred to join IIM Amritsar for its strategic location and committed mentor. In the past one year you have shown us the value of hard work, honesty, dedication and sincerity and these were your very core values that had encouraged me to join IIM Amritsar. Today I am certainly very proud of my decision when I see all the participants, who joined IIM Amritsar because they wanted to be a part of the institute building process, have witnessed a successful year and have reserved good roles in great companies of their choices for the summer internships.
As I analyze I see that IIM Amritsar is on its way to being centre of excellence - with processes, well-structured programme and the pedagogy, infrastructure, student clubs & committees, events and industry recognition. The way IIM Amritsar is progressing I can also say that it is on its way to catching up with the other IIMs (to a large extent if not completely). As IIM Amritsar has unique advantage of being mentored by you, we should not be surprised if IIM Amritsar catches up sooner than expected.
The knowledge and wisdom you have imparted upon me will be of great help and support throughout my career. I believe my success is at least in part due to your sincere support and mentorship. I truly appreciate and value everything I have learnt during first year at IIM Amritsar. It will forever remain a major contributor behind my success and achievements. I really look forward to the day I can do the same for someone else.

A sincere request to all the puys, please don't talk ill about any IIM, as after all we belong to the same IIM family. The purpose of this forum is not to indulge in any fight, but to provide valuable information to the candidates. And I am afraid that because of the verbal war which people engage in, the useful information is not made available to the genuine candidate and instead everyone gets involved in a slug fest. Then there is no difference between a Parliament and the future MBA graduates.Also please be careful before you point any finger at others, because one should remember while doing so, 4 fingers are already pointing towards us.
The efforts we seniors put in for answering all the queries of the candidates out of the busy schedule of our summer internships go down the drain whenever we see such people fighting.
I hope you guys appreciate the efforts of all the seniors of all the IIMs and not let us down with the fighting.

IIM Nagpur has suddenly become hot property...
I remember ticking the IIM Nagpur box while filling cat but now seeing the application form it shows
Of the students studying in baby iims only iim amritsar people are active. Rest iim body gaya, sambalpur, sirmaur are still in slumber whereas iim nagpur has started learning from iim amritsar. Whereas iim vizag is catching fast in terms of being active on pg. Believe me this is something that differentiates the credibility of baby iims.
When will IIM Nagpur be mailing the candidates for reconfirmation?
Why are open letters and stuff posted here? Is this a forum to thank institutes? Looks nothing more than cheap publicity stunt to me. Most of us come here for information not to read propaganda posts and publicity stunts from respective colleges. please post such stuff on your own websites or blog posts. This sub gets clattered with useless information and it gets hard to find relevant information. It starts with a single institute and before we know every institute and every student will be posting open letters here.
is there anyone active from IIM Sambalpur, Bodhgaya and Sirmaur as well? would love to hear about the current status about those institutions (Summer Placements and the next batch related information)
Ok I want some honest opinion now!..I am working as deputy Manager in a public sector bank!..posted in their overseas branch at one of the plush posh areas of Mumbai..Nariman point!..Am into forex department basically handling exports!..My current ctc which includes all possible facilities that the bank provides is in the range 7-7.5 lacs per annum..satisfied with things as of now!.but MBA from top 10-15 colleges has been my long standing dream!..I will be turning 27 this july ..!,,total work exp 40 months as of now
My question is ..is it worth leaving this job for IIM Nagpur considering that I convert it??I am asking this now because I have decent chances of converting it!..composite score above 0.70!..I will get less time to decide later on..Please provide honest opinions!
