I was shortlisted by L and K so i didn't needed to attend the CAP process. But I missed L process but attended K. so will I be considered in new iims or not? if yes then will missing L process would affect my chances?
I was shortlisted for IIM L (PGP-ABM) and attended the interview process and for newest IIMs (in my case IIM V) it was written that those shortlisted for older IIMs need not attend the WAT-PI process for the newer ones. But yet, I have received and e-mail from IIMV about my WAT-PI schedule. I Don't understand.
IIM Amritsar has received a tremendous response from the industry, in the past year. The year was marked with several successful conclaves and workshops, along with several guest lectures and live projects. We are sure that the institute will make great strides in the coming year.

Someone asked me about my opinion on newest IIMs, and how would i rank them. I am sharing this here as this might be helpful to other aspirants.
NOTE: I vouch for most of this data as i have friends/contacts in these colleges.
*This an individual reearch and opinion, if your views differ we can discuss
In my opinion ( based on 2 years in this process )
I would rank Amritsar as the best among the baby IIMs, because
- Placements were completed well in time ( for a batch with over 70% students as freshers, an avg of around 10.5 lacs in the first year is a very good number )
- The place is hustling bustling with lots of events- Bigger batch better learning
- A very good location
Vizag, as the next, because
- Placements have been good so far
- Vizag is a very good location and relatively lesser colleges of repute around the area
- Downside is that they go to IIM B for placements, for how long do you think this will continue. It is important that the college develops its own network. It is certain that one of the batches in near future will suffer ( Just like IIM Rohtak ) and placements will take a dive.
3rd would be Nagpur
- They have good govt support- Again a good location
- Interim report of 27 students seems promising but for a batch where around 70% candidates have work ex ( which should be relatively easier to place ) The average is low. For eg, my current package at an it company with 20 month work ex is 4.8 lpa. i stay here for next two years here i get two more hikes plus a promotion ( adding another hike) i comfortably go to 6.5-7. I switch, i get 9-10, or maybe more. Now, an avg salary of 11-12 is too less. And Nagpur has people with a lot more experience than me. (*wheras, 70% freshers in Amritsar and still an avg of 10.38 makes it a much better season for them)- Again, the very fact that over 17 students not yet placed doesn't make it a good choice
If i have to choose anything beyond this i might choose Sirmaur or BG ( risking my career as i mentioned above ) , followed by Sambalpur. Dropping an year sounds much better than joining Jammu.

Hi all, received a lot of queries regarding summer as well as final placements at IIM Amritsar. So for the benefit of all I am reposting this message.
IIM Amritsar is proud to announce 100 % summer as well as final placements. Big brands like Pidilite, ICICI Lombard, GroupM, DELL, Emami, E&Y, KPMG, DishTV, Safexpress, Motilal Oswal, Azure Power, CBRE, TUV SUD, Arka Insurance, Securenow, Takshashila Consulting, Maruti Suzuki, Shopclues, Toyota, SBI, EXIM Bank, Adani, DHFL Pramerica, PayU, IFFCO, Tega, RBI, Canara Bank, Sportsking, Adani, Kirloskar, Yum, Muthoot, LnT, Catking, MCX, ACS, Keventers, Choco-Swiss and many others have bestowed faith on the institute. Just as final placements, summer placements were phenomenal as well. IIM Amritsar increased its batch size by a whooping 133% to 104 from 44 in its very second year of operation. With this increase in batch size, average stipend registered a 49% YoY increase as compared to previous year. Just as in final placements, where students received multiple offers as around 48 offers were made to 44 students, even during summer placements, students received multiple offers as around 122 offers were made to a batch of 104.
