A few more questions :
1. If I get selected in the first list itself (chances are slim though), how much extension can I get for joining? In SBI I need to serve a notice period of 3 months.
2. "Why leaving SBI PO and joining NIACL AO?" How to tackle THIS question?? It's giving me sleepless nights..
My interview review.
Read my profile.
Mba finance and marketing.
First they asked marketing questions.
Sales vs marketing. What is the difference.
Next question ws that there is always some friction between sales ppl and marketing ppl. Why so.
I guessed and answered that friction occurs because the marketing guys work at HO level and sales guys work at ground level so there is always some friction. Ground work does not always go as planned and ground reality is somewhat different.
Next question was what are the various selling channels of insurance.
I said retail branches and bancassurance which is sales through banks. Panel head said there are more like online, agents, etc and moved to next question.
Next question ws how cud u improve sales.
I said we could tap social media for youth because today youth are using social media platforms and also we could open more branches in remote areas.
They clarified if according to me physical presence is important.
I said yes sir.
Next they countered me asking would it not increase the operational cost when remote branches are opened.
I answered it will but we have to decide on a trade off and that in the long term it would help improve sales.
Next question they asked me why i left sidbi and said i shudnt have left the same.
I answered i had to leave because of personal reasons. Told them the reason.
Only two persons asked me questions. Panel head asked other members if they have any further questions. Both of them said pass and told me that i could go.
I said thank you and came out of the room.
My interview did not go as placed. Never expected to be asked marketing stuff. So cudnt answer much related to marketing and missed answers.

They give you a checklist to start with, to arrange the certis in the order as mentioned in it. First process is biometric verification, someone before me had an issue with the scanner so the person had to wait. Following that you go for the docs verification and then once done with it, you are taken for the interview. [CGPA conversion, please have a document clarifying your university process and caste validity certificate is not asked for and caste declaration sheet they give you during the process].
The panel had an ex Chairman and couple of GMs (a lady and three male members). They asked qns based on my profile, about previous work experience and a couple of concepts based on post grad. It was more like a conversation and usually was led by the ex Chairman. It lasted about 15 minutes and was a well organised process. Got the reimbursement without delay too after the interview.
I didn't have any questions on insurance or BFSI for that matter, maybe they were just warming up for the day :)
Last year, cut-off for interview was 113(45.2) and the final cutoff was 58.7(someone wrote that here). It means anyone who have got 67.5 out of 100 (13.5 out of 20) in interview provided he just cleared the cut-off was in the merit list. With that logic, this year it is 99.25(~40), so maximum the cutoff can go is 54. Do you agree with this? Please share your views.
