I left this thread on anxiety @ number 244.... and now its @265 with a great news... i checked each post and i congrutulate all of you who got selected including me tooo!! well i think my brother like an akashwani already brodcasted this news that I am in ... who was actually the mentor for my inclination towards govt jobs!!!!but now this is an official confirmation from my side that I am in... you puys helped me a lot.. all informations,discussions,debate what we had together since we cleared written was reallyyyy really helpful.... wish to see you soon all aboard !!!!!!!!

I just noticed one fact that all 4 PSU GICs are located at 4 metropolitan cities -
OIC - Delhi
NIACL - Mumbai
NICL - Kolkata
UIIC - Chennai
Is it just a coincidence or there is a specific reason behind this?

Yes, pension was better than NPS. Since 1.1.2004, old pension scheme has been replaced by NPS in Central GOvt. and thereafter adopted by PSUs. In old pension scheme, no deduction was made from employee's salary and persioner used to receive half of his last salary as pension. but now 10% of basic + DA is deducted from your salary and that amount is equated by same amount by the company and total is invested in 3 public sector investment schemes usually LIC and SBI. There is no policy as of now that what will happen to the amount invested if somebody resigns as no person having NPS is retired as of yet. The first probable retirement will happen in atleast 2024 (VRS). So, govt. says that you'll get 40% of total amount invested after retirement as lump sum and remaining will be given on monthly basic. Till then you have remit 10% of ur basic + DA every month till retirement.

not exactly shares but the portfolio is managed by Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA). The amount will only be invested in public sector banks (SBI at present) and LIC just like mutual funds. Also, there are only two kinds of accounts - Tier 1 and Tier 2 and in Tier 2 there are three categories - safe, risk and high risk which will be picked by employee but this will happen only after 10 years of service. So, this is 1.1.2014 for Central govt. Don't know about insurance PSUs as it depends that since when they adopted NPS.

i dont think esa hoga yar... otherwise y wud anyone so eager to take companys acco. 10 k is a v gud amt. and HRA shoud complemnt this amt and as we can see rite nw there is big diff b/w HRA and 1oK

yes flat means more AZADI than co. accommodation
