@dhinkachika no my dear fiend for generallist category there will be a waiting list of 9 candidates and for specialist there will be opening of 6 candidates.
total vacancy 200 candidates - selected candidates (191) = 9 candidates (Generalist)
Total vacancy 145 candidates - selected candidates (139) = 6 candidates (Specialist)

@RitenK i want to ask abt duration of training for specialist? and what are d chances to get posting on preferred location for female candidates ?
@ @aju786 . training for specialist will be of one month plus(minus) one week. female candidates mostly get posted nearby their home town. Well, that also depends on to which state you belong.
Can I know your home town and preferred choice ? I may answer you better.

@dhinkachika well, I can only say that hope for the best because every one has a backup plan.
They may declare a waiting list if people actually joining and the number in the current list vary by considerable amount.
@RitenK we will be given ny salary during training or not sir??????
@apurvaverma Yes, definitely you'll get salary because that training will be counted in probation period. In December salary will be given on pro-rata base.
@RitenK Sir, I want to be posted in Mumbai but the HR people r not able to confirm whether I will get Mumbai or not. They r sayin that we will get the posting after training. What r the chances of gettin Mumbai?

@RitenK what is the duration of training for generalists and me being from delhi what are the chances the i'll be getting a posting in NCR... and about the salary i have come to know that the salaries in NICL and other sister companies are under revision is it true if yes what could be the revised salary for AO's and what is the scenario for promotions in NIC?
@sandykhanna look your basic will be 17240, during training you'll not get HRA or it will be recovered later. After training you'll get around 32000 gross and minus 10% NPS in hand..

@dev15 too many questions to answer.
1. training will be of 5-6 weeks.
2.for Delhi there will be many candidates . depends upon your preferences and order and of course luck.
3. Salaries are dut to revision from Aug'12 but it will be effective from almost 2015. So, stay calm...whatever it will be..it will be good and arrears will be paid.
4. Don't ask about promotions. First join the industry. you are too far for that.Every thing will once you get in main stream.
