@onefreebird : brother seriously sorry for intruding into the conversation here. i read about your case and i still believe you are really a champy that after all such hardships you are now into the second stage of the recruitment process. buddy i think your case deserves a merit i fully believe you shoudn't hide the facts with the guys out there in the interview panel, they have hell lot of experience. i certainly believe that instead of working on finding out a good excuse i believe present your case in totality with full confidence but by removing certain facts like persuaded by boss(coz that may seriously give a far negative impression) instead argue for that thought for going for IES, also mention about your medical stress. since we know anything can happen to anyone there and having a medical problem is not your fault. also dear, howsoever harsh marking they do, they can't hamper your prospects of selection as long as you have a very good written score.
so brother, last choice is always yours but i would certainly advice don't try to bluff them.
