to be honest.... i agree that distribution of time like merely 7-15 mins is not enough to judge anyone..... its luck if questions are favoured .... it was my very first encounter with government interview and it was altogether a different experience... unlike IT firms who dig out your knowledge and look for subject matter expert... where as here they want someone very general for generalist post... they beleive they will mould any tom,**** or harry for their profile... and make them work.. so its totally unpredictable who will be shortlisted and who will be not...

Hey guys can you suggest me how to tackle the question- Have you appeared in any other interviews? I am asking this specially when you get interview calls from two insurance companies which are UIIC and OICL in my case. Should one be honest or just say otherwise?

The questions asked were mainly from family background - what does your father,mother and brother do? Engg- Why insurance after engg., why not IT? (they jokingly said that most of the engineers don't stick) what is the difference between public sector insurance co. and pvt. sector insurance co. other than job security? how will you add to the growth of company? then they came to hobbies - I wrote Badminton, reading, painting, what is the last book you read? overall it was done in not more than 10 min. and I was hoping for more.
