Hello seniors,
How to reach manipal from howrah any idea?
I am not getting any train??


I will take this...not a senior but did my Engg from Manipal.
U dont hv a direct train from howrah (Nearest Railway Station Udupi), ppl usually used to travel from bangalore. Bangalore-Manipal is overnight by bus. Also there is a train from Mangalore to Chennai.

Would be happy to take any questions about Manipal 😃

Can I transfer the 25000 Rs online NEFT by adding the insti as a 3rd party beneficiary ?? But then I would not have any hard copy that I can scan and attach. But other details would be pretty much there. Silly question, I know! Please answer. Also if anyone has successfully taken this route successfully then please say!

I did the way mentioned by you, just mention the transaction id and name of the bank in the Initial Acceptance Form and scan the same and send, it will be more than sufficient. I have received the acknowledgement mail also.:)

How about 22851 Vivek Express? Mangalore is pretty close to Manipal, and I think it's 1 hr bus journey.

A question to all the seniors:

1. Can you shed some light on the lateral placements at TAPMI, do we have seperate companies coming exclusively for laterals (wrk ex> 25 mths)... and what is the avg range of CTC offered by these firms?

2. Does the entire batch gets a summer placement by the companies visiting the campus for summer placements or do some students look out for an opportunity on their own as well? and generally, in what range does the stipend vary during the summer internship?

Being from Kerala, I'm now considering a loan scheme called SIB-Excellence from South Indian Bank. I don't know where all they have branches, but if I get the details, I'll post them here.


SIB-Excellence needs collateral, which I can't provide at the moment.
Got a call from Credila, and I asked them about the TAPMI tie-up. HDFC provides upto 10L without collateral, if the transaction can be routed through an account in some major city in India. Unfortunately, Calicut doesn't qualify as major enough. Will get more details when they call me tomorrow.

Even I got the hard copy.. Itz just a formal copy of whatever was mentioned in the e-mail sent initially!! Btw, my GD-PI was on 5th March at Bangalore, so I guess others who have given GD-PIs before/on 5th March can xpect their letters soon!!

Yes. I will be paying the fees and will mail the hard copy once my dad comes back.
