[Official] 2012-2014 TAPMI Converts

Hi Friend,

I understand you view point and feelings. See it is your perspective and logic and may be correct in your case but that does not generalize it. There may be people out here who are just inclined towards major learning in 2 years and then decide which job/field to opt for. I am sure 2 years of academic rigor will lend much more clarity about what to do.
Your post above makes me feel that you should try and go for for Ivy league b-schools as in that case your dilemmas will be eliminated.

PS: Why to waste time trying to convince people about your perspective on a public thread.:)

By the way, did i really sound convincing? I never knew that. I'll take it as a compliment. I never knew I am convincing enough, and I can do something that I don't want to do! thanks.

Credilla is 13% for 10 lacs without collateral...HDFC is 12%, i think uptill 7.5 lacs there isn't collateral and same with SBI as well. Anyways for loans and interest, talk to the respective banks in your area as rates may differ.

Hey, but recently our FM announced a cut in repo rate by half a percent. The interest must definitely have fallen. Guys do your homework properly before sanctioning a loan. Please do enough research about interests in all respective banks.

That hasn't taken effect yet. So people who wish to wait for the interest rate to drop can wait, others can go for a loan. As it takes time for the sanctioning of the loan and first installment of 3,13,000 is coming up. Besides who knows if there will be a cut in the ROI of educational loans. They may cut rates in home loans and automobile loans and not in educational loans.
Alas! I never want anyone to enter into any sort of dilemma due to my words. As I mentioned that was just a tiny discussion with someone of same frame of mind. I requested to PM me after that same post. I am very sorry if it did to you as well be it even for a second. IVY league institutes are always everyone's 1st love, I am no different but there are other things in life as well. Thanks for your suggestion though.
PS: All my statements are just a discussion over a single topic. Its not everything, just some juice. I am sorry if anyone got hurt knowingly or unknowingly.

Well the discussion did bring in gr8 points...!! there is always a debate about packages and money........out of all these i have a question.. i always wanted to ask.... WHY IS MBA SOOOO COSTLY?? whyy 10-15 lakhs for 2 yrs study.... m thinking sooo much about money.... loan....how to repay it n all (I wish i won a crore somewhere 😐 )it is a general doubt...this question always popped up in my mind when an interviewer asked..."do you have any question for us or anything to ask" I used to just shut my mouth and say NO. I think it is a dumb question
I think this is one damn thing...y ppl drop their dream for MBA

Well, the case studies that u work upon come from Harvard/cambridge and many other B-schools at a price. Nothing comes for free. The guest lectures, permanent faculty, maintenance of campus, infra and utilities and after all none is a non-profit institute. A loan of 10L for, say 5 years at say 10% (that's even too less). That makes MBA costly.

yes i do understand that after spending 11+ lacs for 2 years that too on a non-iim/non xlri institute ur skeptical about the opportunities u will get , but my friend u ll atleast have a platform for that opportunity ..another thing .NIRMA/KJ/FORE/IMT all provide the same kind of platform now its up to you to differentiate according to ur priorities . there are very less good b schools in india which take less than 5 lacs as a tuition fee and provide the same / better opportunities and out of them only FMS and JBIMS falls in the ivy league category .
regarding IT jobs if u look at the student profile mentioned in the website , almost evryone from the last year batch have an IT background either by qualification or by work ex .. now who would be more interested in hiring all there students ..i think only IT companies would be ..apart from the top 10 only MICA and IRMA/TISS provide the chance to change his sector .else u have to bear this IT overdose .
please take an informed decision , there are colleges which take less fee and provide not so satisfying education , there are colleges which take more fee and again fall short on quality of education .. and there are colleges which take more fee but give worth of it via quality of education.
bottom line is education is not a tailor made thing bro ..

Great quote friend. I am glad someone got the flavor of the essence. I hate it today an engineer has become only an IT guy. If you say I am an engineer people will take it by default that you must be a software engineer. Thanks mere jazbato ko samajhne k liye!

Nope, news channels said highest cut to be for Educational loans. Google it. The tentative date was end of April only. It was on the first pg of newspaper. Well, I am still unaware of the current status. You can always have a word with your agent/bank.

I believe the rule is you can withdraw one day before the start of the session and only 1k will be deducted.

But TAPMI has declared 10k to be deducted and 23rd May as last day..Can we file RTI n know why is it so ?

Can colleges bend the AICTE rules as they want ??

I guess 10k will be deducted now, and when the seat you vacated gets filled by some one else, the rest will be refunded back to you (deducting just 1k) I guess this is the criteria. Seniors please confirm

I don't know. I guess the criteria is to just deduct 1k and ultimately they are doing that. You can call tapmi and ask them about it or ask the seniors.
