My take away on why its not wrong to choose a baby over new IIM.
If you consider location alone, Nagpur and Vizag are much better locations than few new IIMs (I dont want to take names). People say new IIMs have bigger batch size and still have better figures. They say they get more no. of companies. The thing is no. of companies visiting a campus depend on batch size (Bigger batch needs more companies). Also look at the quality of companies. The companies that so called new IIms are attracting, are even visiting few newer IIMs. The exception may be 1 or 2, but not more than that. Also consider this with age half of those new IIMs, and lesser batch size they are attracting those companies, Infact few baby IIMs attract better companies than few new IIMs. Also enough with this new and baby IIMs, the gap is 4-5 years not much, if you ask me any IIM after 2007 is new IIM nothing much.
If people still have doubts refer the current year reports of these baby IIMs, and check them with few new IIMs when they are 5 years older. You will find why few are choosing baby over new IIMs. Look at both them and see how much they achieved in terms of student activity, placements etc. You can then see few baby IIMs growth is better than new IIMs.
Let me tell you the difference between Shillong and Trichy is around 3-4 years, now there are people who chose latter to the earlier. All I'm saying is college age matters when you are comparing old IIMs with new ones, and not among new and newer ones. I personally spoke to people who left new IIMs for newer ones, they said reasons are convenience, better promise, faculty quality and more than that the future it promises. Im not saying that everyone should chose newer ones, but doing so is not a wrong decision.

Anyone got offer today?
My profile: 92.1/ 74 / 77.7 NC OBC male engineer Work ex : 29 months in IT I have converted VGsom and today is the last date for the payment. Due to the uncertain situation due to Covid ( I don't think online MBA classes will help in my personality development as much as an on campus MBA would), so I am thinking of taking CAT this year again. But people are also telling me that more than 3 years work ex will be a negative for my profile. I didn't have CAP calls due to not clearing sectional cut off. So VGsom is my best convert of this season. I am studying hard this year and confident that I'll score better this year. Please give your honest suggestions, would prefer if you can comment your views about what should I do?

Does waitlist generally moves after inaugration of PGP in iimv? I think today is inaugration of PGP in IIMV.

Having 82.29 percentile in CAT 2020. Acads are 94/83.5/84 .
