Normally the whole waitlist would move. If you’re converting elsewhere in the meantime as back-up, initiate process there… you’ll get full refund anyways.
You won’t get it on a platter either. Remember EDU.LOAN is one of the most significant contributors to ever increasing Bank NPAs.
Portfolio Quality is definitely deteriorating for this particular loan product. But it’s not the major contributors to NPA numbers for sure. Besides, Ed-loans < 20 laks comes under the scope of PSL. So, getting it is not as difficult as it sounds. Plus, IIFM is in the Tier 1 list for many banks. Hence, you can expect an easier turnaround and TAT.
Tip: Reach out to as many public sector banks as you can. Go through their loan products. Analyse and then send your application. You may also get a partial loan if you don’t want the entire money. Also, remember that the interest rates are linked to MCLRs. Hence, they’ll move parallel to market rates. So, consider all these factors and make your move.
Is there any instance in the immediate past , banks scurrying for offering collateral free edu-loan to candidates converting FM/SM???
Many instances. I got it without any hassle in 2004 and so many of alumni and current students have got. So that should be the least of the worry. Unless things have drastically changed in last 2-3 years, which I think many of current students on this group can clarify.
All the best!
All of this on assumption that everyone who is coming to iifm is only interested in the highest campus placement!! The world is not so simple and career growth is not so linear and not only dependent on what salary you got in the campus placements. A good career is result of your passion, skills, network and your ability to informed decisions. among many other things… IIFM Alumni base is known for some unconventional and impactful career paths which are also highly rewarding.
I would urge prospective students to be better informed about the emerging career options and what past IIFM graduates (irrespective of the courses) have achieved.
The easier options is to go to LinkedIn and see the career profiles and their journeys. One place to read more of IIFMights career profiles is www.iifmight.com where you can see how IIFMights’ careers have evolved.
I joined IIFM PGDFM Program, and opted out from many more attractive names (with higher salaries at campus and corporate placements) and glad that I did that.
So respected sir, all is well on IIFM FRONT?
Another thing – pardon my saying so— 2004 is in hoary past , isn’t it sir???
Madhur sir has strongly denied having made any comment over phone ,regarding last year’s WAIT LIST AND WAIT LISTED CANDIDATES-- data there on. He has controverted everything attributed to him in this regard. He is categorical that I misconstrued him. To that I submit myself.
I ought to have not missed the fact that IIFM without waitlist is simply inconceivable.
I apologise to Madhur sir for the misunderstanding.
The first waiting list will be released today for both PGDFM and PGDSM 23.
Kindly let us know , how a candidate will get to know how far he/she has moved up in rank.
Information will be shared with you through email.
