I am a Mechanical Engineering grad from Sardar Patel University Gujarat with a CPI of 7.23. X % - 82. XII % - 74.8. I have two and half years work experience in a manufacturing industry in the marketing function.
How much I need to score in order to ensure admissions in top B-schools of the country ?? Besides, Can I expect calls from lower IIMs if i score 99+ ?
I do not have any extra-curriculars after 10th std, mostly due to my disinclination towards participating but I had been an avid participant till 10th std(I know that doesn't count). So how bad will I be grilled by a B-school interview panel on my lack of participation in college? I am targeting only the top ranked B-schools.
PS: I do teach some underprivileged children though, but since that doesn't give one certificates, will they consider it ? ; or should I donate some blood and do some volunteering in order to obtain some certificates, I wouldn't mind doing some charity since I like that. Please help 😃

Converted/Waitlisted calls - XIMB HR , GIM, FORE, LBS, IMI HR (50 Waitlist)
Result Awaiting :- IIM Ranchi PGDHRM , IIT Kharagpur MHRM (2nd list to be out in May)
I need to ask whether I should go with existing calls (or with the awaiting ones if any/both of IIM/IIT is converted ) or should I write CAT/XAT/SANAP/NMAT again and then try for next year ?
Please help ... Any suggestions/advice would be really appreciated .. Thanks in advance 😃

hey puys, I need your help. My score in CAT '13 was 93.78. I'm a fresher with 66% in 10th 59.8% in 12th and currently 58.7% in BE. I was only able to convert IMT Nagpur(Marketing). Now I think I can do better. Should I try my luck in next cat? How is IMT nagpur?

Hi puys, I have final admission offer from following colleges....IMT G-PGDM Finance, IMI, KJSOM-Rank 921, FORE, LIBA, NIRMA....i am a finance enthusiastic but have 35 months of IT experience....I dont want to come back to IT field....will it be too difficult to get into core finance roles.....if so then will opt for marketing...I am happy with sales profile roles in IT companies....please suggest....

I just found out from somewhere(the other mba forum run by IIM guys) that the placements across the top B-schools(pagalguy top 10) have not been even close to 100% in the year 2013 and 2014 and that some of the unplaced people are the ones that have a good profile but lack in soft-skills. Does the market look like it is going to improve in the immediate future or should I drop my MBA plans for now and join the company I have been placed in ?
1.)Where would you rate my acads, w.r.t placement shortlist across the top B-schools ?
10th - 92.2%
12th - 84.6%
B.tech(IT) - 7.11/10 scales to 63.99% 
no extra-curriculars in college 😠😠 apart from community service outside college(no certificates or LOR to show off), online certification course in entrepreneurship, marketing and data analysis 😃
2.)Will this kind of profile be shortlisted by good companies in campus placements or should I get some of the better certifications and work-exp to build my profile and write CAT next year ?
PS: I am particularly interested in working either in the Marketing or in the Operations domain.
