Hey, posting here for advice on CAT'20 and MBA in general (sorry for a long post, you'll realise why I moved forward with it in the end).
I'm an IITD graduate(2019) and I worked for a mid-level management consulting after my graduation (since July). I left my job in December 2019 as I was not happy with my job so started seeking jobs in analytics domain. I landed 1 offer in March but due to on going pandemic, company has revoked my offer. Now there's already a gap of 6 months in my CV and with no job offer in hand, I'm planning for CAT'20 and targeting FMS Delhi specifically.
I would like some advice on this as I don't have great acads (X-10, XII-79.8, UG- 5.7)
My question is: "Will this become a big hinderance during Internship/Placement season at FMS?"
If I don't have a good chance for Intership/Placement, I'll switch to other options apart from CAT.
Also, I'm planning to give CFA level-1,2 along with CAT'20.
Advice for someone who want to pursue MBA in finance, be it books, course, YouTube channels, websites or movies.
Please tell me🙌
Thanks a lot in advance 🥰
For everyone including me, jinka IIM L mein nai hua (not even the waitlist), keep strong guys, FMS humara acche college kaa aakhri raasta hai so till then I know it's tough but stay in there, aaj gamm mana liya Lucknow ke tunday kebab naa milne kaa, kalse fir lagenge FMS ki taiyaari mein, itna wait kr rahe hai thoda sabra aur sahas aur rakhlo, we'll get over this. Hope everyone including me finds the strength to fight the negative thoughts that arise. Just sharing my thoughts to comfort everyone and myself who are in similar situation.
It's good to know you are not alone.
FMS OBC ASPIRANTS.
FOR THOSE WHO ARE DEDICATED TO FMS. I know some who have converted ABCL XL and still will be going for FMS. For those serious aspirants. Ranks in list
Guys, maine SOP jldi jldi me bhara tha. And after pressing submit only did I realize that I made a quite basic grammatical mistake right at the start of my SOP. How much do you think it will affect my chances for admission
It will affect your final score a bit
It’s not a big deal. It will be overlooked, don’t worry
If someone from NC-OBC category scores 220 marks in CAT exam, then he has to barely score in gd-pi to make it to final merit list. Correct me if I am wrong.
Okay, someone's gotta say it so I'll be that guy. Requesting all IIM ABC converts who're planning to go to those respective colleges only, try to consider not giving fms interviews as a way of charity for us poor kids who have been rejected from every other institution. You giving these interviews will only push some of us down the wait list for no reason. At least your heroic act of giving us a chance can save tonnes of anxiety for lots of candidates. Cmon, you've established your dominance already. Let us have a shot now. Just as an act of welfare for the society.
I am not sure how much it is true but according to me this delay from FMS is something to do with the inrernal politics of FMS administration.
The retirement date of current dean of FMS is 26.05.2020, and after that there would be a new dean and as this Covid crisis happened every other college took some administrative decisions in the selection procedure while Dean of FMS save herself from any scrutiny by resisiting to do so.
Now her time period is over and new dean has to take over its very much evident that now we would get some kind of notification and high chances of changing of selection process.
