The most devastating thing that is expected to happen in an admission process is to see unfair practices clearly visible in the admission process. The WAT that happened today was a clear example of it, where some people got to know the topic and started late getting the benefit. The paper should have been started at 10 AM and closed at 10 20 Am no matter when the people start. Appearing for paper on time is the least professionalism that should be expected of the aspirants.
The loop-holes in the WAT process will raise questions on the complete authenticity of the results, and also tarnish the reputation of college.
@Adcom please look into this. Hope you will do what stand best for all.
What should be the way forward now ? This is totally unacceptable. This defeats the whole purpose of conducting WAT.
- Give extra chance to those who faced technical glitches
- Both 2nd and 3rd option
- Comment if any other option.
- Scrap the WAT
- Only consider those who gave it timely

Can somebody please share the link for the telegram group, seems there was an opportunity to write a research article on the topics given, considering the time some cadidates got and I wrote a rudementry essay sticking to timelines.
How many candidates who were not able to give the WAT test yesterday received an email from IIFT regarding a retest scheduled on 26th? Some candidates have already received an email. I havn't. I too faced technical issue yesterday. Even emailed it to [email protected] . Still got no response. What is happening? Can someone from the Adcom please respond?

Hi @adcom, i had faced glitches during my WAT.Lost 15 minute for login and lost almost 10 minutes in Wat and time was not compensated and Wat got autosubmitted.Came to know many face similiar issues.We were instructed to contact IIFT by the third party support team.But i came to see update from your part that wat wil be provided only to those who miss the exam and not able to login.But it is a matter of grave injustice given the fact we too face the glitches even though our Wat are autosubmitted.Please give us an equal opportunity.Its a humble request

Extempore Topic: Whatsapp and privacy issues
Spoke about why this has been news since January. Talked about the updated terms and conditions, the backlash around it. Continued with the pre-existing apprehensions among the users and how they were exaggerated. Talked about Facebook's side of the story. Talked about why data privacy is important in the current scenario. How data can be used against the users. Current regulations in India focus on data security rather than data privacy and concluded with how data privacy rules need a long overdue update.

F1: Okay Hardik, I can see you have mentioned that you can speak and read Marathi and you like to read fiction. Can you tell me a Marathi book that you have read?
Me: I haven't read any Marathi books. I can read and speak Marathi but I never delved into Marathi Literature.
F1: Okay, can you tell me the name of any famous Marathi author?
Me: No, I can't recall a name.
F1: Okay No issues, can you tell me one product from Maharasthra that is famous all around the world?

F1: Oh okay, Kolhapuri Chappals come under a special type of intelectual property rights. Do you know what it is?
Me: Yes, they are Geographical Indicators (GI) (It's Indication apparently because she corrected me straight away xD)
F1: Geographical Indication or GI Tag. Can you tell me what other types of intellectual properties are present?
Me: Patents, Copyrights
F1: If you have a patent, what does it provide you ?
Me: If I have patent for any product or any process, no one else can use it unless he buys the patent from me or gets a licence for the same.
F1: If you have a patent, it's a reward for something. What is it ?
Me: My Research and innovation for coming up with a new product. (She wasn't happy with this answer)
F1: Leave it. Which organization oversees intelectual property rights on the global scale?
Me: TRIPS which is an agreement signed by all the members of WTO.
F1: What are the other agreements signed under WTO ?
Me: I can't remeber the exact names but there are agreements signed for services and investment. Others I am having a trouble recalling.
F1: What is the agreement for resolving the disputes among the members ?
Me: I can't recall the exact name, but I do know the method followed. (Explained the method)
F1: What is the issue that the members of WTO are facing ?
Me: I am not aware of any issue, but I have read that according to many, rules of WTO favour the west and developed country more and the recent change in chief has been seen a step forward towards more equitable rules.
F1: That is not what I was looking for but till now you are doing good. My last question. Why do you think regulation is important?
Me: I talked about how the stronger of the two countries could use the upper hand in the transaction to harrass the weaker nation.
F1: I am done.
F2: Hello Hardik, I can see that your CV form starts with cooking and ends with cooking.
Me: (Smiled)
F2: When we see a recipe online on youtube or in a cookbook and we replicate it excatly as it is mentioned , yet we end up with different recipe. Why do you think this happens ?
Me: I think there are many factors. There could be quality difference in the ingredients, then one important factor to note is the recipe they present has been attempted multiple times and the perfect one has been pesented. I think if we try it multiple times we would definitely see more and more resemblance in the outcome.
F2: I have heard that the mood or the mental state of the person cooking has an effect on the final food. Do you believe in this thinking?
Me: Definitely Mam, I think it plays a major role as we always cook the best food when we put our heart and soul into it. Also, I always say Love is the secret ingredient.
F2: I can see you know alot about food and cooking. Why don't you become a chef and become the next Snajeev Kapoor. Why do an MBA?
Me: Cooking is just an hobby and I don't want to make this my work. Plus, I want to make a change by making not just good food. I want to make food that can be accessed by everyone. I want the under-previledged to have the same food that we eat in our homes. Also, Cooking is my comfort hobby which is my stress reliever when I am in a bad mood.
F2: You mentioned you are sometimes in bad mood. What are the things that make your mood bad?
Me: (Smiling) I am a Manchester United fan and for the past 7 years they have been playing bad and sometimes after a bad lose I am in a bad mood. Sometimes, when things don't go well at work and that also becomes a reason for my bad mood.
F2: I am done. Onto you sir.
M1: I think we are running out of time, I will just ask few questions. You have mentioned that you worked for the Cyber offering of Deloitte. Can you tell the international standards that are followed by the organisations for cyber security?
Me: I don't think there is a universally accepted standard. But, most of the countries have their own standards. (Named a few.)
M1: You mentioned in your extempore that India needs to update the regulations for data privacy. Can you elaborate that ?
Me: Went onto explain how current regulations focus on data security with minimal importance to data privacy.
M1: You mentioned that there laws and regulations in EU that have stringent rules on privacy. What are the laws and tell me one salient feature ?
Me: I don't know the name. One salient feature is it makes it compulsory for the organizatiosn to ask user for persmission to share the data.
M1: I am done. Have a nice day.
F1: I have one question before you go, do you know if there is a organization which sets the standards for the agriculture produce ?
Me: I can't think of any. I have only heard about FCI which procures the farmers produce via APMC. I am not aware if they have any standards.

Guys, I had missed my WAT on 24th. They mailed saying that it will be held on 26th. Later, they mailed saying it will be rescheduled. I haven't recieved any update after that. Is anyone else in the same situation as me?
