Got many messages asking me which institute to join IIM Amritsar or X, Y, Z college. All these X, Y, Z colleges were age old reputed colleges. I would like to answer these queries in one go -
The very fact that one is in a dilemma whether to join an age old reputed institute on one hand or a one year old institute like IIM Amritsar on the other shows how fast steep the growth curve of new IIMs have been . We have seen how fast the growth of new IIMs which started in 2010-11 have been. They have overtaken reputed big colleges in a matter of just few years.
Also as one student pointed out- 'just imagine the plight of students who would have left IIM Ranchi, Trichy for colleges like IMI, IMT-G, MFC, KJ Somaiya and many others in 2010'
So I would suggest one to take a wise decision after consulting professors and taking all the factors into consideration.
Would suggest not to blindly follow the "polls". Remember one thing the one who vote in polls not all vote honestly. There are many who want a waitlist movement hence select another college as their preferred option thereby creating a false perception.
