This is a very important time for all of us. There's massive amount of nervousness, questions, excitement as, in the coming weeks, we will be making one of the most important descisions of our lives. Naturally, after the merit rankings are released, everyone (myself included) wants to know what their fate may look like...Convert/WL_convert/WL_reject/straight_reject, and rightfully so.
But can we please NOT put all the INDIVIDUAL polls with these options following the candidates merit rank. WE ARE JUST SPAMMING THE FEED. Voting and the subsequent results of the polls here dont mean much. Just wait for tomorrow's and 8th June's list.
One can rely on last year's waitlist movement to guess their prospects. Some have posted that here as well as the .... group. Some websites too have some data.
Anyway, all the best to all the candidates.

Does this mean I am waitlisted at rank 166? If I am wrong, please comment.

Can anyone explain to me what the merit rank is? How is it different from the ordinary waitlist?
I am a NC-OBC male engineer with IT experience of 25 months as per my application form.

Can somebody please explain the anamoly behind such huge difference in the ranks? Also what are the chances of PGP conversion?
I have a merit rank of 243 under the catergory applied and 264 under merit rank overall. Have i been waitlisted and what are the chances for conversion?

Guys please dont spam with polls. Here's last year waitlist movement https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1w5lQXzyi6Hpo9T58T5WDqwFPvIQA1tHeKch9k49oVTQ/edit?usp=drivesdk So merit list is basically your rank amogst all those who were called for the interview. Your merit rank in your category is also given. In the spreadsheet you can see the table with number of offers given to students in each list released (category wise) Consider the case of general category - in offer list 1, its written 295, meaning that in general category first 295 ranks were published in offer list 1. Now not all of them accept the offer. In list 2, next 131 ranks i.e. Rank 296 to 295+131=426 were given offers in general category. Now again in this not everyone accepts the offer. Further lists are created until rank 695 in general category. From these 695, 227 people have filled the general category seats. Same applies to different categories. Hope this helps. What was the total number of students that appeared for the interview? Any idea guys ? Also does any know about the category wise split of those who gave interviews? What's the maximum merit rank that has been released?

Does anybody have any clue about how many buffer calls are usually given for general category? Kinda scared after seeing K's general waitlist movement.
