With serene surroundings of mountains and valleys, IIM Kashipur is situated in one of the most beautiful locations in India. One can imagine the beauty and prospect of nature nearby. As IIM Kashipur is situated in Dev-Bhoomi, Uttrakhand, various religious destinations like Haridwar, Rishikesh, Hemkund Sahib, etc. are nearby. At the foothills of Himalayas, Kashipur serves as a point to various beautiful destinations in Uttrakhand. For example, Nainital and Jim Corbett National Park are about one hour drive from Kashipur so students can take a small trip to ease up the rigor that IIM Kashipur serves. 

One can reach IIM Kashipur by air, train, and road as well. For air travel, one can fly to Indira Gandhi International Airport (approximately 220 km from the institute) or Pantnagar airport (approximately 60 km from the airport) and take a cab from there. For train travel, one can choose from one of the several available trains from Delhi or other cities to reach Kashipur. For road travel, one can take a cab from Delhi or catch a bus from ISBT at Anand Vihar, New Delhi. Uttarakhand Transport Corporation provides bus facility services for the IIM Kashipur campus to Anand Vihar bus terminal, New Delhi (To and Fro).

Hi Adcom, I'm waitlisted at close to 950 in General category, you say that the first waitlist will be released on 5th June. Assuming that I get converted in the 3rd or 4th waitlist, or maybe subsequent ones, what is the time gap (I mean no. of days) between release of 1st and 2nd WL, 2nd and 3rd, and so on? I need to know this information desperately, atleast the trends of last year, so I get a fair idea.

Hi Team, While all new iims have sent mail regarding waitlist,why Kashipur haven't sent any mail for waitlisted candidates till now??

Reposting: Lets talk about ROI of an IIM and few things about new IIMs. I don't know how people calculate ROI. If you are dividing average package by fees then you are the dumbest person on this planet. What about networking? What about quick promotions due to your IIM tag? What about visibility of your resume amongst average college graduated students? There were companies which were offering 7 lpa and we were dying for it. Do you know why? Becoz within 3 to 4 years you will get 30 to 50lpa in that profile(investment banking). Even if you loose job due to market condition you will be hired by some other organization where your IIM friend would refer you. Now tell me how will you calculate ROI by taking these many things in to the considerations. Many aspirants says that increase in number of IIMs has diluted IIM tag. I would suggest them to look at the facts. Pre liberalization India's GDP was increasing at 1 or 2%. Number of jobs were also increasing accordingly. There were only 4 IIMs in India. Post liberalization (1991) many MNCs entered in India and GDP started growing at faster pace. Number of jobs were also increasing accordingly. More and more managers were needed. But number of IIMs were not enough to fulfil that demand. As always Indian government was very slow in response to market demand and opened Indore, Kozikode in 1996 and IIM Shilong in 2007. Later they responded to market conditions and opened new and baby IIMs. Today if you look at ratio of number of managerial jobs to the number of IIM graduates, it will be far higher than what was it before 1991. The reason why companies are not offering new IIMs as high package as an old IIM student get is that companies don't have enough experience with new IIMs. Sooner or later all new IIMs will reach that stage. You as an alumnus of that particular IIM will also get benefit of it. Average package/fees = temporary ROI all the things that I mentined above/fees = permanent ROI. Don't ignore any IIM call just bcoz it is new. Jo crack nai kar paya CAT wo yahi bolega ki ye new IIM me nai jana. Being an IIM Kashipur alumnus I respect every other IIM irrespective of their age. Old, new and baby IIMs are really trying hard to produce high quality manager. If you join any IIM then you will get to know that you become an IIMian not because you cracked the CAT and cleared WAT/PI. You become an IIMian bcoz of the efforts that college forces you to put in to make you a good manager.

When it comes to loan availability for the MBA program, 𝗜𝗜𝗠 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘂𝗿 ensures that no student is left behind. The institute has a tie-up with banks such as SBI, UBI, Central Bank, and many more. On the day of registration, all the banks' representatives are present on the campus to help the students avail loan facility. The process is simple and time-saving. 

Loans are generally collateral free and have have moratorium period of 2+1 years. 

The loan amount covers everything from college tuition fees to mess charges, acceptance fee, personal expenses, student exchange program fees, purchase of a laptop, any professional course fees like CFA, etc. 

In case, a student does not have a savings account, it is opened then and there only.

𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝗜𝗠 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘂𝗿

𝗜𝗜𝗠 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘂𝗿 also provides a full waiver of Tuition Fees for up to 23 students in the first and 23 students in the second year. Division of 23 students and the basis of providing scholarship is as follows:

1. 10 Participants on the basis of Need
2. 10 Participants on the basis of Need cum Merit
3. 3 Participants on the basis of Merit

Hence, up to 46 students in the first and second year can avail of a full waiver of Tuition Fee in an Academic Year.

Students can also apply for 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝘁. 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 such as 

1. Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Top-Class Education for Scheduled Castes Students – Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. 
2. Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Top Class Education for Scheduled Tribes Students – Ministry of Tribal Affairs. 
3. Merit-cum-means based scholarship scheme belonging to the minority communities - Ministry of Minority Affairs.
