Hi Guys,
I went through some of the posts made on this group, wanted to clear some of your queries.
Here is the link to know about waitlist movements across various premier institutes: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1w5lQXzyi6Hpo9T58T5WDqwFPvIQA1tHeKch9k49oVTQ/edit#gid=2085775098
1. Waitlist Movements at IIMK
2019 Waitlist Movements:
General - 391
NC-OBC - 212
SC - 150
ST - 72
2018 Waitlist Movement
General - 179
NC-OBC -35
SC - 89
ST - 0
In 2019, waitlist movement was high because less buffer calls were given in the first list and also the intake of students was increased by 60. It all depends on the number of buffer calls given, if you want to know about it, then you have the option for filing an RTI and asking them about it, you get replies within 3 weeks.
As the final date for Converts confirming their seats is May 22, expect first waitlist movement around May 25.
2. For the ones posting asking if they can convert or no, asking for poll to know if they can get in. Guys, I feel this is not the right place, because people answering your poll might be the ones who simply are answering for fun, they might not even have an interview call!
No one can ever know how much will be the waitlist movement this time, what I feel is it might be in between of 2018 and 2019 movements, and then again NO one can tell this because none of us knows the buffer calls given! Hence dont get anxious, just wait for the results!
3. Also I have seen many hate posts being posted on this portal, IIMK aspirants dont get worried due to some post posted by a anonymous person. There might be many reasons for someone to post demeaning things about the college the best thing for all of you to do is try contacting some of your college/school seniors who have been at IIMK, someone whom you can rely on and just dont go by a random persons opinion. Iam sure you will find someones contact may be through your cousins/friends or so because of the vast network of IIMK.
If I can help you in anyway let me know.
Hope this helps.
What makes IIM Kozhikode special? - An Alumni Perspective - Live webinar with Q&A - 4PM, Sun 17 May
You are invited to join this live webinar with some of our alumni. Registration details are here - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/105061247018
About the webinar:
In 2021, the fifth IIM will celebrate its 25th anniversary, with a global network of 10,000 alumni. Over the last quarter-century, IIM Kozhikode has been a trailblazer on so many fronts and created its own special identity and experience for its stakeholders - students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
Everyone has heard about its intoxicatingly beautiful hilltop campus that gave it the moniker 'God's Own Kampus'. IIMK is in the press regularly for its diversity leadership ever since it was the first IIM to have more than 50% women in 2013. But there is so much more that makes IIMK special and we have a special webinar with our alumni for you to hear it in their own words. Alumni who have lived the experience both on campus for two years as well as the alumni experience. They will weigh in on several areas where IIMK is special, unique, or a leader.
There is such a rich diversity of experiences on Kampus and these alumni took part in different student committees, interest groups, competitions outside campus and foreign exchange. Their thinking and mindset was fundamentally changed by different faculty and courses. They will share these in detail to paint a rich view of what makes IIM Kozhikode special.
They had different experiences on campus and took different paths after campus, into investment banking and private equity, entrepreneurship and venture capital, strategy consulting, sales and marketing and e-commerce.
Our panel includes:
- Debanjan Bhadury, Class of 2007 - The Rohatyn Group
