Moral of the above: After crossing the minimum benchmark of "good education", individual competence "on the job, throughout your career" more important than a "mere label earned years ago". So guys, don't get bogged down by hair splitting exercise of "which B-school is better than which and not as good as another". The IIM tag passes all minimum standards .. choose the IIM you are likely to be most comfortable with. It is better to be a topper in IIM Z than a last ranker in IIM A!!
Keep your head high, take pride in whichever IIM you join and never feel you are below another institute! A few years back, there was an article in TOI about the IIM halo, in which the author (who had a successful carrer but didn't get through CAT) says:

Important Update
1. An admission confirmation mail will be sent after 15th 2pm
All waitlisted candidates have been mailed. If anyone has not received the mail, they need to mail office.admissions1(*Email id is changed*)
2. The fee waiver is as per central govt rules. IIMR doesn't give any waiver. The government will give the waiver. Details are on the website
3. The fee structure is being finalized, waiting for BoG approval. It will come with registration mail
4. Batch size - 204 MBA (PGP), 71 MBA-HR (PGP HRM)
5. Session start: registration on 17-18 for MBA (PGP) and 19 for MBA-HR (PGPHRM)
6. Candidates selected in one course and having an issue in showing interest in another should reply in the mail that they are interested in the required course. It will be manually done.
7. If the amount is deducted from your account don't worry about the deadline, send a mail. It will be considered even after the deadline but please do mail:-
