This post is about the recent situation of IMI Delhi not providing (or not being able to provide) hostels to a large number of students just days before the college begins. There are a few questions that nobody seems to be asking: 1. Infrastructure: The only reason that people pay 20lakh+ to IMI is that it provided decent placements and basic accomodation in the past. What does the college provide in terms of infrastructure for 17 lakh tuition fees? No sportsgrounds and no space. The faculty and administrators are to blame who are just ripping students off by not even arranging basic accomodation. Why should parents and students be forced to spend their hard earned money on such unconcerned college and its authorities? 2. Brokerage and other expenses: If anyone knows Delhi property, they know that if they go through brokers, they have to cough up entire one-month rent just as brokerage. This should have been the college's responsibility. Would the college pay for our brokerage or take a cut in fees because it didn't inform us ahead of time? 3. Outstation students: Outstation students from as far as South India, West India and East India, and their parents like mine will have to cancel our tickets that were around 18 June. Train tickets are not available now from these locations. Now I have to buy a flight ticket and come to Delhi soon with my father to find a place. Who will pay for the exhorbitantly priced flight tickets and for staying in Delhi while finding a place. What about those who come to Delhi for the first time from far off places? 4. Transportation: Even if we live in any Delhi locality close by, we will incur a significant cost on a daily basis, apart from the high house rent that we will have to pay. Is any provision being made for transportation for all students? 5. Misinformation: The authorities have conveniently passed the buck by saying that they already mentioned that not all would get accomodation but the gravity of the situation was not mentioned. Earlier batches haven't faced such difficulty in accomodation, and so it never crossed any student's mind. If we knew about this situation earlier, we would have taken the possibility of no-accomodation into account in selecting other colleges that we had converted. My idea of MBA was not living in isolation in flats and arranging food/laundry/internet/travel etc on my own. I wanted to go to a college that would take care of most of these aspects, and i would study freely and get to network with seniors and batchmates. Providing hostels to some students close to college and denying a section creates a clear demarcation from the beginning where Non-Hosteliers will have to depend on hostellers for information/group projects etc. Accomodation may not seem like a big problem to some, but it was certainly one of the factors for me to decide my college. I would have certainly gone to colleges a notch lower than IMI, but who would have provided hostels. Now, I am just joining IMI out of compulsion, as I am already serving my notice period and have cancelled admission in other colleges where I converted. My parents are already sceptical of spending such an exhorbitant amount on this college, only to know that now, I will have to go through the hassle of arranging my own accomodation as well. If this is the 'chalta-hai' attitude that I paid a premium for, I don't know what is in store in the future. It's not that we can't find a place on our own, it's that the college needs to take charge of the situation. IMI is one of the most expensive B-schools in India and Delhi. This is how we are treated for paying those extra bucks: by asking us to withdraw admissions when we have resigned from our current jobs and all major college admissions are over.
What is the procedure to withdraw admission?
Gim core vs Tapmi core vs KJ core?

I have been offered admission in hrm course and i have paid the first installment. If I withdraw my admission from hrm course and ask for a refund, will it affect my chances of being considered for the core waitlist, if they release one?
Hey...is there anyone from indore joining IMI and looking for hostels or pgs there ??
Hi.. is there anyone from Jamshedpur or Ranchi joining IMI and looking for PGs and Hostels there ?
Hi.. I intend to go to IMI tomorrow morning. I think if we go in group or in a large number, then we can have a greater say regarding the hostel issue. Can any of you come along ?
Adcom, @S_akanksha @raghavbajaj96 @BikAsH-S @MayurMogra @DivyaGeetha We all are aware about the accommodation issue and most of the pgdm converts have started looking for pg's Don't you think it would be pretty difficult for those who are going to convert in next 2week, because if they are from different states they have to rush to New Delhi look for a pg + rommie and this all, well before June 19th+ they have to make arrangements for their first installment and as well as apply for loan, it would be acha khasa hectic It is a wise decision to release the next list or atleast a wait list ASAP! To avoid any further inconveniences to the student who are going to convert in next coming week as well as for their parents Since the last day to cancel the admission (bcoz of hostel issue) is 28th May, Can we expect the next list to be out by 29th ?
Hi Adcom, I am suffering from back injury. I have converted for PGDM-core. Please let me know if there is provision for joining late based on medical reasons.
Inteha ho gayi 2nd list ki, Aayi na kuch khabar mere IMI ki, Yeh hum mein hai yakeen, buffer call thi ek bhi nahin Phir wajah kya hui intezaar ki ? 🙃

I don't understand one simple thing that how the hell on this planet could a management school just ignore the issues being faced by the ones who are denied hostels. Pichle ek maheene se we are hearing to their shit of *administration is taking it seriously* Toh kiya kya hai bhai abtak? Fore is way better. Atleast they were clear about their shit way before are didn't befool students ki hum arrange kardenge. Does yoh administration have any idea of what we and above that our parents are going through? Do you realise how unsafe as a city delhi is? Just because you guys couldn't negotiate for hostel , you decided to screw up our lives. I'm from down south and not so welli to roam around delhi searching for a PG kyunki college wale are dumb enough to deny hostels 10 days before. Oh yes, they are offering 7% PA as a goodwill gesture, how can we forget that. :) Placements ke time bhi yahi karte hoge? Sorry, we couldn't convince companies to hire because they know how shit our administration is. So wr request you to search for companies on your own. No?
Second list released
