On 8th August 2019, our alumni, Mr. Pranav Mitra (Batch of 2014) visited the campus as a practitioner and took a session for the finance major students on "Currency Hedging". Mr. Mitra is currently working in DR. Reddy's Laboratories Treasury Department and he shared with the students the various ways by which Dr. Reddy's manages risk using Derivatives. The session was very informative as the students understood the practical application and implementation of the concepts taught in class.

She shared her experience about the work culture, "I have been given an opportunity to collaborate and work with people at grassroot level to understand the nitty-gritties of merchandising in a retail space. I have to come up with solutions to improve the efficiency of merchandising activities carried out at retail. My inclination towards pursuing marketing as a career has been increasing throughout my journey as an intern. My first stint as a marketeer is exciting, challenging, fulfilling and memorable."

The theme of the event was "The Imperfect Blend", which symbolises an amalgamation of Diversity - to forget our differences and see the world as one. The speakers spoke on a variety of topics â the importance of power dressing by Riddhi & Siddhi, reliving disaster relief experiences by Amarpreet Singh, understanding the equation of war and peace by Nabila Jamshed, overcoming our obstacles by Pawandeep Singh, how to fight our fears by Dar Gai and finally, understanding the implications of human error by Rahul Tyagi. All the speakers were from diverse walks of life and they left the crowd motivated and inspired.

"Travelling to a new place is always full of adventure and new experiences. When I got the opportunity to go to Canada and study, I knew a lot is coming my way, knowledge, experience, fear, courage, new people, new friends, different cultures and what not. I was thrilled, I was happy and I was living it. And if the climate is your personal favourite, it adds to your glee. Montreal was submerged in snow for two months and I loved it. Being in a country extremely different from your home calls for a greater involvement. From taking the public transport to coming back home was itself a unique experience in life. I explored the city, got overwhelmed by the scenic beauty, learned new cultures, observed people, their habits, and their lifestyles. I got a bit nostalgic because time stops for no one. One thing is there for sure and that is, Student Exchange Program is not a year in your life it is a life in a year.
