Chances of converting a call entirely depends on your performance in GDPI. For GD, reading newpapers daily and ging through year books will be helpful. For PI, if you are a fresher, be thorough with ur grad concepts. Avg package has been 7 lacs till now.
@akshita21 A lot many qeustions there 😁 As Srinath rightly mentioned, it entirely depends on how well you perform. If you do good, I am sure you'll be selected.
Right now GDPI preparation is what you need to focus on. Read business magazines, newspaper, watch news, debates-have an opinion of your own. Be aware of the current affairs.

There is this one more query though. I have 85% in 10th 92% in 12th (ICSE and ISC) but a shabby 5.9 in BTech (DAIICT). How is that going to work for me?

IMT-N does consider past academic record while shortlisting students but i suppose that should not be a problem for u.
