The general management department at KJSIMSR organized 1st International Conference on Challenges in Emerging Economies General Management Area giving PERSPECTIVES IN QUALITATIVE RESEARCH on 23rd & 24th November. On day 1 The Workshop conducted by Srinath Jagannathan focused on the key issue of “Qualitative Data Interpretation and Analysis” as well as the basic research skills for conducting qualitative research were discussed by Ms. Sakina Pittalwala the key note speaker for the 2nd day. #SIMSR #MasterYourFutureAtSIMSR #LifeAtSIMSR #MBALife

K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research organized Milaap, 2018; a reunion of the PGDM batches of the years 1993, 1998, 2003 and 2008 respectively on 8th December 2018. The event was attended by the alumunis of the above batches along with the Director of SIMSR Prof. Monica Khanna. 

The event started with the performance by the cultural clubs Mauj & Grooves and ended with the speech of Prof. Monica Khanna.

What is gmat cut off? 

Ankur Mehta, K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research - SIMSR, Alum of Batch 2006, Vice president, Marsh India was recently present for a guest lecture in campus for PGDM FS batch and spoke on the Insurance Industry. The students got a lot of insights on the recent trends in the Insurance sector which helped them gain a better understanding of the sector and he also talked about the recent trends in the information technology sector which has not only revolutionized the insurance industry but also turned the financial sector on its head. He also talked at length about the integration of the technology like Artificial intelligence in every walk of life from morning to the time we sleep. The students thoroughly enjoyed the session and got deeper insights about the Insurance and financial sector

 

The curtain raiser for the 9th edition of 'Metamorph', the annual festival of the three year Management Degree Programs, was held on 8th December, 2018. The theme of the festival is world fiesta. The festival consists of a multitude of management, cultural and sports events.

The presence of Dr. Monica Khanna (Director, SIMSR) further motivated and bolstered the spirits of the students.


  

SIMSR is a hub for guest lectures and workshops where students not only learn about new stuff but also gain hands on experience of latest techniques.
Quantinuum, the quant and analytics committee of SIMSR, organised a workshop for classical machine learning. The speakers for this workshop were Mr. Raj Darshan Dhyani, an alum of IIT Bombay and JBIMS, who has over 30 years of work experience in the field of Machine learning. Accompanying him was Mr Prashant K Sharma who is currently a Research Assistant at IIT Bombay working on Machine Intelligence.
The workshop was quite a success as students learnt about the art behind machine learning and also got to experience the same on their laptops.

 The International Business Society at K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research - SIMSR conducted IB Summit. The whole event revolved around the theme: Future of SAARC.
The day began with a keynote speech by Mr. Anirban Das who held the audience in rapt attention while addressing them about SAARC and its journey through the last three decades. Subsequently, a panel discussion among Mr. Amit Bansal (Head of Global Generics, SANOFI), Mr. Manish Pathak (President - Strategy & New Markets, Welspun Corp Limited) and Mr. Abithab Bhaskar (CEO - International Business, Netcore Solutions) was moderated by Prof. Issac Jacob.
Post the panel discussion, a themed lunch was organised which included various delicacies from all the SAARC member countries.
The session in the morning was followed by VISTAAR a B-Plan competition which had participants from various b-schools across India. .

Prof (Dr.) Monica Khanna, Director of K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research was interviewed by BW Businessworld on the recent trends in B-school education. SIMSR is hosting the 6th Global Supply Chain Management Conference at its campus today, Friday 14th December. The theme of the conference is "Supply Chain for Industry 4.0". A roundtable conference of foreign Delegates and Industry experts are discussing the current scenario in Supply Chain management. Dr Mai Cao, School of Business and Economics, University of Wisconsin-Superior, has graced the occasion and has given his valuable insights.
