two attemts at the qestion, proceeded more in the second attempt. Saw the solution as I am a newbie, and only a part of the solution matches my logic! My approach : out of the 12 misplaced books, if 1 is assumed to be misplaced on the Phy shelf, and 4 of Bio being misplaced in Mths shelf, remaining 2 in Maths being misplaced(not belonging there), hence, the" 5 more misplaced should be found out now"--- thus leading to the concusion that, "these 5 can be found in chem and bio shelfs"---hence, "1 in chem shelf misp" and "4 in bio shelf misp"!----if anyone reaching this step as conclusion, please share your thoughts and the next step. Other solutions are also welcome!
