One month more in Dortmund (Germany)

Today is 16-jan and we have exact  1 month to go back to IILM GSM...One side I am excited to go to India to meet my parents , friends, faculties and many  more...but on the other side I am feeling sad, because I am going to leave this place Dortmund (Germany) which gave me a big exposure of my life. Here I learned a lot many things, not only about academics but also about the diversity, people of Europe, their culture, their style of living and so on. Only IILM GSM made this possible for me to come abroad and study.

Thank you once again IILM GSM for making 'me' special for me and my parents.

Infrastructure of university

1)      BUILDING - Building is very well planned and built for capacity for more than 15000 students. The infrastructure is designed in a way that even a disabled person can easily commute within  the university blocks. High tech systemized gates are designed in  such a way that no one faces any problem

2)      LIBRARY -  Library is having  varied collection of books and they are providing students with facility to make books available from other libraries in GERMANY in case books are not available.

3)      FH-CARD - Well this is a multipurpose card used as an identity card ,a travel card(we can travel across the state with this card free of cost) , and moreover we are getting discounts on food by showing this card

4)      TOILETS- when we talk about the service of public university in India we all can imagine its condition , I just want to tell about service here offered in Fh-dortmund Germany.Toilets here are hi-tech and efficiently built ,neat and tidy and having proper facilities for disabled persons.

5)      FREE WIFI - we have an access to wi-fi throughout the university  at an excellent speed of 100mbps which is still a dream in India

6)      COMPUTER LABS - Lab is equipped with hi-tech computer up to date with all latest technologies and software , and we can get out documents printed and Xerox ourself by putting coins in a machine; (still a person is needed in my country)

7)      FOOD COURT - At last I want to talk about the food facilities available in a campus. There  are many different eating joint within the campus and one big mensa (eating joint) where food is prepared for 15000 students having different varieties- vegetarian or non-vegetarian and the quality is unquestionable.

I got access to all these services due to IILM GSM COLLEGE , GREATER NOIDA

IILM Is having a special programmes for international studies and I got a chance to study in Germany

For the upcoming batch, IILM-GSM is giving many more opportunities. Its on you how you grab it.

which is better in BIMTECH PGDM IBM or RM ??

Friends...I'm going to write my MAT exam in three days. I have asked this question before but not got clarified. Please tell me how many questions I have to attend to get 95%. If I attend 70 questions with 95% accuracy what will be my composite score and overall percentile?....If I attend 80 and 90 questions with 95% accuracy, then what will be my score and percentile? Please help me to understand better. Thank you

The days are passing by as we are about to finish our studies in Germany and once again starting back in our country. The journey so far was interesting and I hope it clings on to be like that in India. We all did our studies in India and are quite familiar with the organization and the Indian pedagogy. After coming to Germany we are amazed by the German pedagogy and the education pattern. It is always a gamble to compare the standards between different countries & their culture. But unless the comparison is made we cannot raise the bars. To put up straight I did some comparison and would appreciate if some changes can be adopted at the university level in India.

I had been in the university in India studying the slot system. The system had the motive to reduce the burden of subjects by dividing it into various slots. To a certain extent this system might favour the students when breaking the subject into parts; it may help him/her to learn in bits. But the problem arises when the student has to study the subject only for 2 months or so. By the time student absorbs the subject he finds that the exams are on the way. There is little scope or learning as the time is very less. The semester system always proves to be helpful; it gives the student ample time to consider his plans for learning either in bits or as a whole. In Germany there does not exists any slot system and the students are learning well. Learning should always be given preference over everything.

One more thing I would like to change is the process of "mugging up" which I myself did when I was a kid. There should always be a room for practical studies in the university. More of an interacting class full of activities and industrial interaction. I hope one day these things when implemented/followed will prove a remarkable change for the Indian students.
