Yup dude u r right... u r pretty late and i guess good colgs would be full by now but i would suggest you to give a try in CAT this year... you might get hell lot of options and they would be better then most of MAT level colleges. Think wisely.. ATB 😃

is PGDM thru AIMA nodal centres good kindly reply ive got 98.66 %le in may mat 2012 and m in a dilemma whether to join this year or to got with CAT 2012 i ve got selected in GITAM hyd i m in a dilemma kindly suggest

AIMA is not worth it. Not even decent. With 98.6%tile I would strongly recommend you to take CAT next year. First and foremost there is not even a single good college which is still open to admission. Secondly, with little hard work you would get into 10 times better college.

what about Jaipuria Lucknow ? or Acharya institute bangalore. ??? or apeejay delhi ?

There won't be much of a difference I think. 😐 Just check my warning post on last page and make sure the college is true on both the points.

Warning:

This is the time when most of the students are not getting goood colleges and they just end up taking up any college.

I would like to mention a few points please consider this while you are considering any college under MAT. These are not my views but an extensive research has been done on this and this has been derived from that.

1. AICTE approval. It should not be approved by DEC (Distance education council), if it is then the degree would be considered as Distance education degree, no matter if you attend a regular college while earning this.

2. Please be careful, if a college is providing an MBA degree (not PGDM) then the university which is proving the MBA degree should be in the same state where the college is located.
Ex: A college in Delhi is providing a MBA degree from Punjab university will not be considered as a regular MBA, this would be a distance education degree again.

P.S. A lot of colleges will say this is not a distance education very confidently but this is the trust so please don't get trapped.

:sneaky:thnx cutie for this useful post...the thing which you have mentioned about the approval of the colleges is exactly right & is useful for the MBA aspirants...but there are many colleges like IILM Ggn, LR which provides dual certificates i.e., PGP+IGNOU MBA degree to there students...having a diploma along with a certificate is a good deal for any student as they can apply for any government jobs & can also do PhD....one thing which the students should kept in mind is that if they are going for any diploma course than it is worth taking admission in a good college or else it is worthless....

i have already drpd one yr and now i have jaipuria noida
shld i wait anthr yr and wat shall i do durng ths period dey wil nt acpt 2yr gap wthout workex i am b.com stdnt and cnnt find job decent engh

I have mentioned one more point that either the college should be approved by AICTE or get a MBA degree from the same state.

In case of IILM Gurgaon and Lodhi Road (Delhi) firstly its approved by DEC (Distance Education Council) and more over the MBA is again from IGNOU which is a correspondence degree providing university. Since, they are not approved by AICTE, their PGP would not be considered as equal to MBA(which generally happens if college is approved by AICTE)

Hope I have made myself clear on this once again. If you have any more doubts please feel free to discuss.

P.S. The same is not valid for IILM CMC and GSM Greater Nodia.

well yeah if dts d case then it would be better to opt for a branded college under MAT or if you think you have spark in U and you can really make a difference in this trial then you can go for CAT n such exams and while PIs you can produce a job certificate and i guess you know ... how things can be managed in such cases

well compromise is what you will do if you opt for jaipuria noida, if you have already dropped a year for this college then go for it if ur target are like these collges, my suggestion would be(as m also a b.com stdnt) go for some pvt bank job - not for money but to experience the corporate world and prepare for next year CAT,snap, mat, etc exams and then try for a better college.
Please keep next time in mind to get good score in Mat throu DEC/JAN MAT as most of the b-schools gets filled thru it.
One more thing droping a year(which is not a waste as u prepare for mba and a job) is better than wasting your career for a college becoz of some personal fators is not worth at all, which you might feel after 1 yr mba or later in career.

Hi Surinder,

You really have a superb scores. Well, if you haven't got the help yet. Tell me which city you are targeting at or would you be okay with any city?
hi ricky,

thank u for responding to my query.
i attempted mat this time and got 85 percentile.

Please can you give me wht would be a decent percentile in CAT to get through good colleges...

Even for CAT 85% should be enough. But as Kalam says, dream higher and aim higher, you should really looking for somewhere about 95-98, seriously. You may end up with 90% and you would be amazed to see the options you'll get. Have you started preparing?

hi, i completed my graduation with 84% and working in MNC with 1 year working exp. i wanna do MBA. how do i proceed? will my woking exp be useful in packge?

Dude, Looking at ur educational background I can't suggest u to opt for such college. You can give it a try in CAT and i am sure You will get better options for sure. If you want a good launchpad to fly higher in future then you must think twice before coming upto any decision. ATB

:)yuppp your exactly right regarding the "college should be approved by AICTE or get a MBA degree from the same state" (i missed that point)...& in case of IILM LR/Ggn it is approved by Joint Committee of AICTE+DEC+UGC....the reason why it is giving IGNOU MBA degree along with PGP certificate is to be not partial with the students & keeping in mind the future of the students & the amount of fees they are paying to get admission....because just like you said that which is no doubt right that there is no worth of having distance education degree alone:biggrin:....& your right regarding IILM CMS & IGSM that both are recognised/approved by AICTE....thnxxx

as per my knowledge sometimes taking drop is not a good choice for every one:nono:...those who are confident that they can get a good score by taking a drop than they should:sneaky:....anywayz don't worry still there is some hope for you as there are many colleges whose admission process is still on (i guess you know d names) you just have to make a call there datz it....jaipuria is not that bad....go anywhere it will entirely depends upon you how you identify & grab the opportunities that come in your way....LASTLY no one can do two things together either go for job start earning OR else just sit down and prepare for next year....olll d very best:biggrin:

can any tell me how is aiges school of telecom management

Yeah it will help you for sure ... there are few brands that shortlist students that have work ex. and others give preference to you guy over freshers and yeah packages for experienced candidates vary from that of freshers in many cases. But you are working so don't get into any college that you get but try for the best option then only go for it. ATB
