At a nature trail camp, one-fifth of the total members went rock climbing; twice the square root of the total members went hiking up a mountain trail. The remaining 10 were exploring in caves. How many members went hiking?
I had my NMAT exam today. Here is an overview of the exam: VA: VA was easy to moderate. Words asked for synonyms and antonyms are already furnished in the list. However, I am providing the same- Synonyms: Varied, choleric, Antonyms: Uxorious RCs were comprehensible yet time taking. Correction of sentences- fairly easy. FIB- Easy.
LR: This is going to make or mar your performance. I had not enough time to read all the questions. I/O questions were very easy. In-fact, you canfind a variant in one of the OliveBoard Mocks. Too many critical reasoning questions- One needs to delve deep into the nuances of the questions. Many non-verbal questions- To be precise, many figures were given with numbers. These were tough nuts to crack. Coming to number series, I couldn't crack any underlying logic. So, I was left with Hobson's choice of guessing the answers. All in all, a mind crunching LR section with bizarre logics.
QA: 5 DI sets- Solved 2.5 sets with 95% accuracy. Non-DI questions were do-able. Here is the question I remember: Find the sum of first 20 terms of the series 3, 15, 35, 63,....
Advice: Solve VA, QA. Then go for LR. ensure that you attempt 100 questions.
