what is the min value of 48cos x-20 sin x
-root(48^2+20^2)

@sujamait almost there ans is 10
did cacl mistake 6+2+2=10 only ..i wrote 9
@sujamait plzz explain
A solid cube just gets completely immersed in water when a 0.2 kg mass is placed on it. If the mass is removed, the cube is 2 cm above the water level. What is the length of each side of the cube?

1)10cm
2)8cm
3)6cm
4)NOT

with approach please??

@sujamait plzz explain
48cos x-20 sin x
48 = r cos p
20 = r sin p
r^2 = 48^2 + 20^2 [ sq above eqns and add them to get this]

so,
r(cos(p+x))
now min val of cos theta is -1,as it varies between [-1,1]
so,
-r is answer , that is , - root (48^2 + 20^2)

seems like physics Q
cube ki density ? let x be side of cube
m*g = density of water * g * (x-2) .... here h= cube inside water when the 0.2kg thing is not placed over it,m= mass = volume of the part of cube inside water * density of cube = x.x.(x-2) * D
we can get D from here..density of water is 1000 kg/m^3 ..convert m^3 to cm^3 ..10^-3 aayega

also,
(m'+0.2)g = density of water * g * (x)
yahan se x nikal aayegi..

............................................
@sujamait did the calculations, x is getting cancelled out.

aisa kya ,then i dunno how to do it..
waise second eqn ka m is not same as 1st ka m..
2nd wala m mein volme poore cube ka lena hoga...

my logic : lets convert everything in g and cm

so let side of cube =x

now

vol of water displaced when no mass on it =x^2*(x-2)

(soo this + 0.2Kg )*density of water =vol of cube

so since were takin everything in g/cm^3, denstiy of water =1

we get:

x^3=200+x^3-2x^2

solve u get x=10
@Brooklyn yup thats correct!!!
@Brooklyn i would like to ask why density of water and not that of cube but that would be digressing from the whole point of this thread so lets leave it at this.

The total number of two digit numbers in which the ten €™s digit is either identical, double, triple, quadruple, five times, six times, seven times or eight times the units digit is:OPTIONS1) 43 2) 21 3) 45 4) 22
4) 22

units digit = 1 -> 8 values
2 -> 4
3 -> 3
4 -> 2
5 -> 1
6,7,8,9 -> 1

Total = 8 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 5 = 22

i took density of water coz its universally known simple, i dont knw the density of cube. So i cant solve problem by introducing a new variable
In a regular tetrahedron the centers of the four faces are the vertices of a smaller tetrahedron. The ratio of the volume of the smaller tetrahedron to that of the larger is m/n, where m and n are relatively prime positive integers. Find m + n.
Three business entities X Ltd, Y Ltd. and Z Ltd,
with 4, 3 and 5 employees respectively, merged
into XYZ Ltd in order to jointly raise the capital for
setting up a new modern production plant in Jaipur.
After two years, on the question of management
decisions on the new venture at Jaipur, the
employees started adopting differing viewpoints and
began to quarrel among themselves. Given the fact
that there is no quarrel among the employees of
the erstwhile X Ltd, Y Ltd and Z Ltd, what could be
the maximum number of quarrels that can take place
within XYZ Ltd?

47?

(3 + 5) * 4 + (5) * 3 = 47

3^9 + 4^5 IMO :splat:

3C1*5C1 + 5C1*4C1 + 4C1*3C1 = 47??
