What is the probability of finding exactly 33 multiples of 3 when 100 consecutive natural nos are selected?
1. 1/3
2. 2/3
3. 1
4. none of these

even i am thinking the same thing.....if all the interior angles are equal...doesnt it make it a regular polygon (octagon) per se??????????? how can the sides NOT be equal.....@sowmyanarayanan pls confirm wether question is correct or not !
the lengths can vary..
have a look at this..

Puy.. how the sides vary for a regular octagon.. with angles equal ?
and equal angle doesn't necessarily mean regular polygon. on a polygon with equal sides and angle is regular

Each angle of an octagon is 135 and the sides are alternatively 2 and _/2. Find the area of the octagon.

its 1..between 1-100 there will always be 33 multiples of 3

Is it 1?
@pavimai hey senior answere is 1/3.........every 100 consicutive number will have 33 multiples of 3 so
33/100=approx 1/3

nope. it is 2/3
coz consider
1-100 => 33 multiples
2-101 => 33 multiples
3-102 => 34 multiples

so 2 out of 3 instances

its not given first 100 natural numbers, what about 6-105, there are 34 multiples of 3 here
@catter2011 thanks for clearing concept too..

its like 4* ( 1/2 * 5 + 1/2 * 2 * _/2 * 1/_/2) = 14
In how many ways four letters of word STARTS be arranged?

on removin "exactly" it mst be 1.. for exactly.. it shall be a universal case n 6/9 cases qualify.. that be 2/3.

Pardon me if i am wrong..but it all depends on the selections doesn't it?
If i select consecutive numbers between 3-102,6-105 and 9-108 then the prob = 0
Similarly if i select 1-100,2-200,4-400 then i will have exactly 33..then prob = 1
In the same way the prob can be 1/3 as well as 2/3
It all depends on which series of consecutive numbers you select. isn't it?
