i am just splitting the octagon in to most basic figures. no general formula for this question.

aur baki square ka 2(2)=4
sahi hai yeh

differentating
cosx 2^sinx - sinx 2^cos x = 0
cosx 2^sinx = sinx 2^cos x
2^sinx-cosx = tanx
x = pie/4 ...........it ll be min at x = pie/4
2* 2*1/rt2
2^ 1 + rt/2

x = 5pie/4 pe hga -ve..perodicity hgi yaha

=>2^(-1/root)+2^(-1/root2)
=>2/2^(1/root2)
=>2^(1-1/root2)
=>2^(root2*root2-1*root2)/2

Solution says y = 2^sinx + 2^cosx
From symmetry, y would have minimum value when sin x = cos x = -1/_/2
