Hi Rutty,
I have applied for Jan intake in 1 st week of october and got a reply from SP Jain saying i need to submit a score but till date i did not take any test.I have booked for SPJAT on 4th Nov.Their is no acknowldgement also for that booking. How will one understand that the DD has been received by SP Jain...
Now since most of the admission part is over is it adviceble to take the test and go for evaluation process for Jan intake? To be more precise i guess most or say all seats must have been filled(in few specia..).Can we have the exact number of seats in each specia....so that we can decide to try for jan or june 2008.
You valueble suggestion will be of great help.
i have a small doubt. I applied for Product marketing and management for the jan2008 intake and i finished my second round of evaluations and yesterday i got a mail saying that i have been short listed due to the limited number of seats. Now can i defer my allotment to the june 2008 batch and get a confirmed seat.
can u plz help me
thank you
Hi,
All these queries were posed to us a lot of times when we first started with our GLM specialisation for the June 06 intake,
Today the placement statistics are there for all to see.
We bring in new specialisations and do away with redundant ones based on the market demand.
We are always researchng and updating ourselves.
We feel tehre is ademand for HR managers not only in India but also in the Middle Eastern and Asian regoins.
Hence we have decided to introduce this programme.
there is no fixed no. per specisalisation.
The overall batchstrngth is about 250-300 students per intake across all specialisations
The salaries for HR would be in the same league as the rest of the specialisations.
Thanks
Hi Ruty,
I am from IT backgroind and am interested in pursuing Hr for career growth. Would like to appear for your exam in June, but have queries in my head which confuse me, since this is the first time SP jain is starting HR.
1. SP jain is not known for HR, and it does not have any brand or legacy in HR unlike some other fields like Marketing and operations etc. how do you intend to promote your students to the industry then?
2. Like always, placement is each and every students's concern and esp so after paying 14 lakhs, what kind of salary figures can be expected for HR in that case, ( i have already visisted you website and seen the avg figures for other streams), but HR guys are not paid that high initially. and me being from a different background, what figure do i expect?
Please provide figures.
3. What kind of firms can be expected for HR, can i expect consultants like HAYS, MERCER, E & Y to come, or that is a long call? Besides, will there be SAP LABS, IBM expected since these have ERP modules for HR guys as well?
4. How many guys will be inducted in the HR batch?
5. What is the scope for Hr in Dubai? From whatever little i know, Dubai has more of finance and to some extent marketing oppurtunities, but is unknown for HR, infact HR in INDIA is a far better than in Dubai, do the student expect that placement will be in INDIA?
Will there be any oppurtunity in US/Europe, where HR's role is more prominent?
6. Is there any scholarship on offer?
and finally where does the Global HR degree fir in the international arena?
Hope you understand the concerns, and revert back with all the info, since it makes sense the student knows all the details before taking such a big decision.
Please reply.
Thanks
Faiz
Hi,
Firstly, you have to log in again post 26th October using your DD no inorder to generate your Hall ticket.
If you are able to do the same that means we have recd your DD.
Well we would not conduct one more aptitude test nor would we accept more applications if our seats were full by now.
You may go ahesd and take the test for the jan 08 intake.
thanks

Just one more suggestion - if you wish you may retake the test which we are conducting on 4th Nov 07.
You need not pay the registration fee.
Kindly let me know if you have such plans so I can inform you of further prcedures.

hello rutty
i have been ACTIVE WAITLISTED. And in the S P Jain website they told me to check the website regularly to see if my waitlisting gets converted to a offer letter.
now because of the limited number of seats and if my waitlisting does not get converted into a confirmed seat can i defer this allotment to the june 2008 batch and then get a confirmed seat.
kindly help me in this regard

Hi Rutty,
I am submitting online application for Jan 08 intake. I had taken GMAT in July this year.
Do I need to report my scores to SPJain? I checked for the institute code on mba.com but it is not there. Please advice.
Also please let me know the format and procedure for requesting recommendations as part of online application. Are the recommendations needs to be submitted with the application or after getting shortlisted.
Thanks for your help.

Rajat
Well If your waitlisting doesnt convert to an offer for this intake - i'm sorry but you will have to apply afresh for the June 08 intake. We cannot defer waitlisted candidates.
thanks

We do not have an institution code for the GMAT. You just need to mention your score on the application form.
The recos are to be submitted within 10-12 days of application submission.
Thanks

hi rutty
thanks rutty for answering that query. What are the chances for a wait listing to get converted into an offer. Actually there is one more phase of evaluations on 12th and 14th of november. And there were also very few students who applied for PMM. when will i get to know??
thank you
hi rutty
and do wait listed people ever get calls for offers or is it just a formality.
Well there are chances that waitlisted students could be given offers but again that depends on the Admissions Commitee- they review the waitlisted candidates from time to time as and when need be and if found suitable a candidate may be offered.
Yes we will definitely be evaluating more candidates as we close for admissions only on 15th Nov. (but the dates havent been fixed as 12th and 14th yet) pls get your facts right before making statements like there were very few students who applied for PMM.
I do not understand from where such rumours start. We have a good response for each and everyone of our specialisations.
thanks

Hi Rutty,
Can you please throw some light on the certificates being offered.
Is the certificate that is jointly offered by SPJIPMR and SPJCM , the same as the one offered by the SPJIPMR for the 1 year MBA course in Mumbai?
I suppose the Industry recognition is the same.Am i right in assuming so?
Thanks for your time and patience.
Hi Ms.Rutty,
Am from the shipping industry with 7 years experience. I am qualified to sail as a captain. My query is whether you will consider a candidate like me without a formal degree but with professional qualifications and with adequate Work Experience. If you do, what are the minimum requirements that i should be looking at?

Sir/Ma'am,
Im intersted in SPJAIN Global MBa (Singapore and Dubai) Program..I already have my family business running and i just want to complete my mba in 1 year and need no placement..Kindly tell me the procedure for the admission and do tell me if there is any management quota.
Hi Rutty,I have applied to this program on 22nd october. My concern is I do not have CAT/GMAT scores and will be taking up SPJAT on 4th...I am worried that this might hinder my chances of getting through as I am already late. Can you put some light on how will you go about this esp. when you already have people waitlisted...!!Thanks!
Dear Ritesh,
IF you want an MBA degree just for namesake might as well go to some other b school or do a correspondence course in which you will not have to shed out 12 lakhs from your pocket.
Secondly it is not about shedding out the money, its about utilizing the skills that you learn during your course for the betterment of an industry, a society or a nation.
I agree witht he booming economy of India there is a consequent rise in aspirants and the rich is getting richer, but if you would just look at the flip side of it, we still not have been able to do away with the poverty.
So I would suggest If you are really learning by spending the amount of money please contribute to the betterment of not only the Indian economy but poverty as well.
Though I mean no offence to anyone here.
Regards,
Varun
HI Rutty
Can you throw some light on as to what percentage of applicants are given a final offer for SP jain Dubai and what is the average years of work ex in a batch??A rough idea will do just fine..
