Hi,
Atlast after being on waitlist for almost 2 months i got the confirmation mail that im not considered. But the website still says im on waitlist and the mail which i got was a one liner stating im not shortlisted.

the mail which i got was a reply to one the mails i sent asking for the update.

I feel the information shld be provided like what were the criteria where a candidate was not able to do good and hence rejected. That will give us some scope for improvement.

Can i treat the mail i which i got as the final confirmation or will there be any detailed mail sent.

For all of you who attended the evaluations on the 24t/25th of Nov and whose status' have not yet been update - i apologise about this delay and you should know the same shortly in a day or two.
Inconvenience caused is regretted
Thanks
Regards

Actually we do not havea policy of sending any official emails with a students status.
your status will be officially available to you on the website itself shortly
as you had emailed us psecifically we sent you a revertal moreso since you have been waitlisted since a while
we do not havea policy of informing each and every candidate the specific reason/s why he/she was not selected.
We have our own unique requirements and if a candidate is falling short on these then he/she would not be selected.
In the initial stages we look at academics, work ex, entrance test score, extra curriculars, acheivements etc
During evaluations some of the factors that we look at are personality, smartness, communication skills, domain knowledge, skills acquired etc
You may assess for yourself where you may hvae fallen short
thanks

Mam,
Thx for the reply...

But according to your reply you mean to say that you already knew that im falling short of some critiria and hence will be rejected then whats the point in keeping a candidate on waitlist.

The website still says im on waitlist.....if i had not sent the mails repeatedly regarding the update then i wouldnt have come to know that im a reject.

Mam if i knew where i went wrong then i would have lost hopes on the day i was interviewed.I felt i did pretty well and after meeting Mr.Jain i thought i might get thru.Thats the only reason im asking you to let me know the criteria where i fell short.

Your profile seems fine to apply however I cannot comment on your chances as that is a decision of the Admissions Commitee .
It is as easy or difficult to get into any of our specialaistions and we expect all students to have the same skills whatever the specialisation maybe.
As you have an IT background i suggest that you start reading up on IB nowitself so that you have a thorough understanding of the topic
thanks

Well I was saying it generally - and we also waitlist candidates who fall short on some criteria. the admissions Comitee reviews this waitlist from time to time and selelcts some candidates who it feels can be offered admission and the rest are rejected.
And I am not saying anything - you yourself mentioned that you received an email from GMBA stating that you are rejected.
Soemtimes there is a bit of a time gap till we update the resuts on the site- we have got the final results only a few days ago and it would take us a while to complete updating so many students status' - every1 would know theri final status by Monday

I am afraid I cannot give you more specific reasons for your not being selelcted
thanks

Well we would accept either scores ir GMAT or SPJAT
it depends on you when do you wish to pursue your MBA
As you are planning to tkae the GMAT late i.e July.Aug - I suggest you try taking the SPJAT when we conduct it for th e June 08 intake and then decide
thanks

Hi Rutty Mam,
Well thx for taking time out n replying to the mail.

Will surely wait for the update on website.

I would like to know what is the intake for GHRM for this intake and also can i reapply for the same course for next session ie june intake or is there any specific duration to consider rejected candidates like the corporates.

Mam im not able to make out where exactly i went wrong so even if i apply for the next intake...i think i will face a similar problem.wht do you say??

By any chance the institute is specific about the companies coz im wrking for a start up.

Otherwise thanks a lot for answering to the queries without getting irritated.

Thanks and regards
Natraj

Hi Rutty,

will Spjain Dubai consider cat-2007 score for june intake?

There would be about 25-30 students per specialisation.
Yes you may reapply for the June 08 intake.
Well by then you would have about 6 mths more of work ex which may help you in improving on your existing knowledge and skills
The company u work for does not affect your chances of getting admission

thanks

Hi Rutty,

will Spjain Dubai consider cat-2007 score for june intake?

Hello Rutty,

I am a prospective student of SP Jain Dubai/Singapore. I would be applying for the May 2008 intake and have a small doubt regarding the admission process, which I request you to clarify.

I understand that recommendation letters were required till last year (even for the Jan 2008 intake, if I am not wrong) as a part of the application. However, I do not see any mention of the same (on your official website) pertaining to the May 2008 intake. Request you to clarify whether the letters are required or their requirement has been scrapped for the May intake.

Request you to revert at the earliest.

~ Sunil.

Hi Rutty,

I have not given the SP Jain Test till now. Can i give it for the June intake batch?

Regards

Hi
I am going to apply for the June intake .Following required details in the application form have raised a doubt in my mind. Can you please clarify:
1. Have you applied to SPJIMR, Mumbai? (currently or in past )
If so, give Application No.

I applied online to SPJIMR, Mumbai and received a reference no. through e-mail. Are they asking for the same?

2. Total number of years of experience

The last date of submission is 31st March. So till what point of time, we should count our total work experience. This is a doubt because there is a column asking for months also.
