Hi, Like I ve explained in my earlier posts - we are not just interested in merely filling up our seats - infact we do not even havea fixed no of seats that we are looking at.
All we are looking at is finding the right candidates who meet our requirements and are a right fit for our instituition.
Some ofthese candidates must be outstanding in other areas and the only draw back is either they dont hvaea score or their score doesnt meet our requirements - hence we are giving them the opportunity to take the test
In any case this waitlist would be reviewed from time to time by the Admissions Commitee as and when need be, and students found suitable will be shortlisted for the evaluations.
Thanks SHweta
Hi Shweta,
Thanks for your reply.
In that case don't you think that SpJain should mention the minimum admission criteria on the site. This will help students to shortlist the colleges where they want to apply and see whether they are eligible for the same or not.
I and one of my friend both had a same profile the only difference was he was having 61% in his first year of graduation and i am having 58%. He was called for the interview that means its only because of my first year marks. And as you said "Some ofthese candidates must be outstanding in other areas", whatever be the case they are still short of the some minimum criteria and you are providing them an extra chance. It is unfair for the students like me who can't change their graduation marks.
I always use to think that Sp Jain will have a transparent admission procedure but sorry to say i am not able to see any transparency in the admission procedure.
Hi, I cannot give you specific reasons as to why you were not selected - However during the evaluations we look at your communications, domani knowledge, skills acquired during your work ex, smartness, personality etc.
You may have fallen short on any of these areas that could have led to your not being offered admission.
Pls don't lose heart or feel disapoointed - not being selected does not mean that you are not good enough its just that you do not meet our unique and specific criteria
Thanks Shweta
Dear Mam,
Thank you for answering all my queries till date.
This last query from me is extremely crucial for me, and I would be glad if you would kindly throw some light on it.
My Appln No. is 21728-GLM. I have been regretted in the admission process. It has been told that I lacked in some unique criteria required by your institute.
Having an exceptional academic record with atleast a distinction in all the exams I have appeared so far in my life, and a very good extra curricular activities record, with a decnt work experience of 26 months, and then having a good GD-PI as well, I am compelled to think that what is the criteria in which I seriously lack in.
Mam, just for my refrence and exploring the area in which I seriously lack in, and looking to plug the same, I would request you to kind give me a small feedback, so that I may appear for the Jan intake and make it upto your esteemed institute.
Well just for the record - on viewing your application i notice that you have 58% not just in your 1st year but in your 2nd year as well. So that does make alot of difference,
At times the admissions commitee is willing to overlook one factor if a student is outstanding in other areas.
And the academics are of utmost importance to us while shortlisting a candidiate.
I have repeated in various posts that we require students ideally to havea first class ALL throughout. SO I think we have been transparent enough.
At times you may come across a candidate who may not have a first class in their 1/2 yr and have still been shortlisted - that is very rare and only if the candidate has made up for the lack of academics by being outstanding in other areas.
And FYI we do receive some outstanding applications for the IB spec and hence competition for places is tough
Hope I have cleared the air
Thanks Shweta

Hi madam,I have applied for GLSCM and had my evaluations on 8th march.I have been put on waitlist-post evaluations. Is the competition tough in GLM as well.Is it possible for u to tell how many seats are vacant in GLM stream? What are my chances for the offer?
This last query from me is extremely crucial for me, and I would be glad if you would kindly throw some light on it.

Hi puneet, this is anurag (appl GLM-20092).I have appeared for gd/pi on 8th march and have got waitlist-post evaluations.I am from chanakya(1997-2000 batch).Did u went uptil directors interview?Any other candidates u know who have applied for GLM?This will help me ascertain my chances.
Neither the status in the website is updated nor I get a mail from admissions...I appeared for evaluation stage on 9th while some folks have got final offer who appeared on the same date or that weekend.
But the calls received so far is for IT, WM, IB, RM.........
What about Marketing, HRM, GLSCM.......Are the admissions committee dispatching the mails in series according to specializations or what ???
If I don't get a mail by end of today, does it mean that I am not selected.....??
Can I still hope a call since I applied for GLSCM......???
Thanks in advance Regards, Suren
Hi,this is anurag(appl 20092-GLM).Appeared for gd/pi on 8th march.Got waitlisted-post evaluations.What is ur status? Are u from chanakya?
My Application no. is : WM 21623. My GD/PI was on 9th March. I see most of the guys with their results. They have either been accepted or wait-listed. Does that mean that those who haven't got the results yet (if anyone is still there!) are rejected.
I tried logging into my application to check my status, but it shows me an error. Could you please tell me whether I will be getting the result in a day or two or should i contact someone. If possible please telll my result as i am not able to login to the result page.
Hello mam, I am a software engineer and have filled for may 2008 batch, my application number is 23076-IT. Can you please confirm if the application is complete in all respect, as the first time i submitted, it erased my academic entries and asked me to fill them again. So I am little apprehensive as to there might have been some software glitch. My details are X 79 XII 77.7 BE from top 10 institutes in India 84.6. Work ex 18 months CAT 95.35.
I am hopeful of being in the shortlist and do not want to lose out due to software problem.
Also is filling up this late leaves me at a disadvantage. Thanks a lot.
I am too waitlisted........lets hope for d best........
btw am not from chanakya......
Rgds, Suren

I am glad to receive the offer for IB and I will be submitting the first installment as per letter. I have a few queries which if resolved, would turn out to be a decision booster for me.
1) Placement: I have a work ex of two years with Wipro Ltd. and my profile mainly revolved around Transition, Project management, Operations in area of Finance and Accounts (auditing, variance analysis, Payroll taxation, pension for a client in UK). More or less, I am not too ahead of a fresher when it comes to IB as a specialisation. Having seen the profile of last batch, I can say that there will be people with qualifications like CA, CFA etc.I know it depends on an individual to fetch good placement but I was concerned about my standing in comparison (assuming if CA and I perform equally well).
2) Latest figures: As per the latest placement data, both; average and highest salary has decreased. A variation in highest is something which happens but average or rather median is something which represents correct picture. Can you please throw some light re Median?
3) Components of CTC: Would you be able to comment of fixed and variable components of average salaries?
I applied for the Services Marketing stream early january and since then I have been put in WAITLIST status stating that I fall short of "some criteria". I am really concerned rite now as there is no change in my application status so far. I am a little impatient now as the status still reads the same everytime i open the website and enter my details. I am not really sure that what criteria do I fall short of. I know the application is reviewed time and again by the admission committee but can you please let me know that when can I know the final status of my application (either rejected or shortlisted for evaluation) as it would help me to a great extent in planning my future ( as the wait has been a little too long now for me )
Below mentioned is my profile for your reference: 10th : 82.8% 12th: 96.1% B.Tech (NIT kurukshetra): 75% IT Experience : 20 months till date as a Software Engineer Excellent extra curriculars and work achievements
As I have mentioned several times before - we do not have any fixed no of seats that we have to merely fill up - we are looking for such candidates who arethe right fit for our programme.
I cannot comment on your chances of an offer as that would be the decision of the Admissions Commitee
Thanks Shweta
