Had applied to SP Jain in jan but only decided to take the aptitude test now after seeing al the other disastrous results in CAT and XAT.
my profile as of now is:
class X- 88%
class XII-91.75%
Eco(H) SRCC ,Delhi
1st yr-52%
2nd yr-63%
3rd yr-54%
Have pretty good extra curriculars both at coll and school.........dramatics,debating, plus district level basketball n other games at school
have certificates 4 academic excellence in all my senior classes at school.
Currently wrkin in an mnc as a finance research associate and wil have 8 mnths wrk experience by april
have applied for wealth amnagemnt (fluctuating between that and investment banking)
Basically jus plannin to have a reality check as to wher i stand in the application process.miserabl 72%le in CAT ...but lookin forward to the test on 25 th feb.....any kind of help would be appreciated as to what can be expected with this kind of profile....

I spent some time going through this blog and the official query site but could not find answer to my question. So Here it is, I am a Software Consultant working in the US with around 8 years experience, took GMAT few months back and scored 690. 1 Year MBA from SP Jain looks a great idea to me.
From all other threads, I realise that If shortlisted, one is called for GD/PI before the final Offer is made.
I am based in US and I would like to know how does the admission process work for Indian Nationals working abroad, Can the Interview be done on Phone?

I already went through the evaluation procedure, which I found very good and objective and also got the offer letter.
Visit S.P.Jain Center of Management, Dubai . Singapore and fill the application form. If you got shortlisted, you need to send a evaluation fees of 60 USD and then you will be evaluated online along with telephonic interview.

Thanks for the info. But only my permanent address states that i am from UAE. But I live in bangalore , INDIA and would be attending apti and evaluations in INDIA only. Can u plz let me know, if there is any difference with respect to admission procedures in INDIA / UAE. Wil be grateful if u clarify the same.
Also when we spoke to the UAE office regarding the application status, they told us to contact the mumbai admission office.

There is no fixed time frame as to when this waitlist is reviewed.
The utmost that you would have to wait until would be till we close for admissions i.e 30th April 2007.

The above status message is being displayed for about more than 3 weeks now.
Can you please let me know till me know the process of application being reviewed and moved to the reject or interview call status.
In my case i think it is my past academics which could be the possible reason for the waitlist.How optimistic can i be regarding me being called for the interview and atmost by when(I have applied for the banking operations management and have 2+ years of work ex in a s/w company working for an Asia Pacific banking gaint).

I do not have to road map from the domestic airport but any of the cabbies or rickshaws would know Bhavan's campus in Andheri (W) which should be say 20-25 mins from the airport.
The procedure would take about 6-7 hrs so you may book a flight/train beyond 10 pm and kindly mention your flight/train departure time to the staff at the venue.
Also i suggest you read up the post regarding evaluations on this blog SP Jain Dubai and Singapore - Admission Queries
If you are offered then you would have to pay an initial deposit of US$ 2500 within say 2 weeks time and the remaining fees say about a month from then.

I got a cal from your side and i booked 11:30 slot on sunday, 11 march.
Could you please tell me the route map to reach spjain for domestic airport and how long the entire procedure will take---- so that i can book my flight from delhi accordingly.
Also please let me know the lumpsome amount I'm suppose to pay incase i qualify from your end after the selection( 😃 by god's grace) .
Certain students may have received more than one job offer, but that obviously depends on the capabilities and skills of the individual.

I have read always on all the links pertaining to spjain that the placmenst have been 100%.
No further references has been made that if there exists get multiple placmenst from your college. (placement ratio of the college??: ).

PLs note that the salaries mentioned are only the average, obviously the better qualified students have gotten packages of much more as you must have seen the highest salaries mentioned on the site.
Till date none of our students have faced any problems in repaying their loans in proportion tho their salaries.

I had a question about ROI for GMBA,
The fees for GMBA is around 25000USD. Apart from this we also have to bear the expenses of laptop, food, travel and other incidental expenses. Leaving the opportunity cost for 1 year, i would be investing roughly around 14lac INR for an year. (I am a SW Eng and my current sal is 6lac INR PA. I will not add this opportunity cost for the calculation here.)
Considering i take an Education loan at the prevailing interest rate from a bank, the EMI after i complete my MBA would be around 30k INR (Calculated for 5 year term).
From your website if you see the average Indian salary after the MBA (for all specializations combined) is around 7lac INR PA. This amount will be the CTC, and so a thumb rule calculation would give us around 35k INR as the monthly takehome salary.
Considering the above numbers, will GMBA be a right option for investing?
A frank analysis on this matter is appreciated.

EMI Calculation details
EMI calulation is based on the interest rates currently prevailing in Syndicate Bank.
Syndicate Bank provides a max of 5 years term for an education loan.
For loans above 7.5 lacs, interest amount should be paid even during the period of study.(This would be around 80k for one year)

pls note that this change is possible only before you are evaluated. Once you go through the evaluations and then request for a change of stream it would not be possible.

I have got a call for evalution which will held on 11th Mar. As I have applied online, so they asked me to download the form, fill and bring it along. In my online application I have filled Service Marketing and Management as my superspecialisation and I have got my application number too as 13006-SMM. But now after discussion with my family and looking into my future prospective (before evalution, in my downloaded form) I want to change it to Product Marketing and Management.
Is it suggestable to do that? Please guide me regarding this

Dear Dominique,
Yes, our GMBA is a two city crossover model wherein you are studying 6 months at Dubai and 6mths in Singapore.
placements take place in India, Dubai or Singapore so if you prefer to get placed in India or Dubai you may mention this to the placements committee.
It does not matter where you end your course, we have the facility of video conferencing wherein students can be interviewed by a Dubai or Indian company inspite of being in Singapore.
Our fees do not include - food and personal costs, cost of air travel and cost of a laptop.
Hence you may budget for an additional 1.5 - 2 lacs over and above our fees.

Some of my frends told me that in the provided 1yr program...we will have to spend 6 months at dubai and 6 months in singapore?
Is it so?
Then the placement scenario of singapore is not that good. Students need to struggle a lot fot it.
and besides the 25,600 USD.....how much more amount will be required for other expenses?
Kindly give a fair idea as we need to make the arrangements for the same.

Well as you are aware our requirements for the academics is a first class in all years ie 10,12 and all years of graduation.
SO you may fall short on that requirement from our end.
You may take the test if you wish to improve on your CAT score as even that falls short of our requirements.
You may go ahead and apply as the decision on your application will only be taken by the Admissions Committee.

yes we could arrange for a telephonic interview for you.
You may send in your application and if you receive a call letter from us( which means if you are shortlisted) then you may write an email to state that as you are based overseas you would like to be interviewed via telephone.

Your CAT score is fine as it meets our cut off and you need not take the aptitude test.

Active waitlist implies that students falling short on one or more but not ALL of our criteria are waitlisted until such time that a final decision is taken on their application.
The list is reviewed from time to time and students found suitable are moved forward.
