[OFFICIAL] SP Jain School of Global Management (SPJSGM) | Dubai, Singapore, Sydney: MGB & Global MBA - Admissions 2023-24

Hi guys,
I have applied for this December intake.(Specialization in IT management)..
Have some concerns about the Referee forms...The mail I received does not talk clearly about when these forms are to be submitted.
Rutty, could you please help us out..

HI,
The reference forms can be submitted after application but within 15-20 days from the date of application. it is not an eligibility criteria but it is a very important aspect of the admission documentation requirements and your documents remain incomplete without these.
Your profile seems fine but it all depends on the admission committee's decision as you are falling short on the academics
thanks

Dear Rutty,
Is it necessary to submit the reference letter along with the application form,is it a part of selection criteria or we can submit it later also i.e during the time admission (if selected)

And also I would like you to please go thru my profile and suggest what are my chances looking at my past academics and work ex

1 -class X-80.8%

2-Class X11-54.1%

3- Graduation B.COM (H)-59.1

4 Work ex -8 yrs in sales & Marketing (5yrs in Asian Paints (I) and last 3 yrs in 3M India Ltd as area Sales Manager)

5-programme-PMM

6- And how much value ad comm give to past academics looking at my work ex, Bcoz this year I was wait list no-18 for XLRI GMP which did not get confirm.

we havent yet decided the date of the aptitude test
pls take a lok at our website in the next 10-12 days for more updates regarding the same. the broad areas that are covered in the aptitude test are Maths, logic, English, GK etc
thanks

hi rutty,
I am planning to apply for dec 07 intake,i have work ex of 14 mnths in IT ,and gmat score of 700,do ppl with such low work ex manage to get through,do i stand a chance.or should i wait for couple of mnths more.

Dear Avdhesh,
Th reference forms wuold be required within 15-20 days from the date of submission of your application. If you are working in your own business then maybe a reference from one of your business clients whom you have dealt with would do. we will not accept references from friends, family friends, family members, relatives etc.
ideally the referees should be 1) academic meaning your school or college professor and 2) professional that is from your seniors at work , your boss etc

dear rutty

i have submitted my application for wealth management.

i received an email with the confirmation and also 2 reference letters.

how soon am i supposed to submit the reference letters? would they be required to be eligible for the cut-off?

also, i am working in my family business with my father and uncle. in this situation, whose reference letter can i submit? can i ask relatives for a reference, or my friends, or my fathers friends? please solve this problem of mine so i can submit the reference letters immediately. also i do not have any teachers to give a reference from because i have graduated in 2003, and i studied for my gmat exam on my own.

thanks and regards

HI,
while we do prefer students who have work experience we are willing to consider outstanding freshers. Whether you want to study for a year and get back to working quicker or whether you are willing to keep a gap of 2 years before you get back to your professional life is a decision only you can take.

Regarding ref letters pls read my previous replies.
thanks

Dear Rutty,

I am applying to the GMBA course for december '07 intake. Since i have a good family background in retail i am interested in retail management as my specialization.

I have worked as a sales executive and a store manager in 2 different retail outlets.
I then opened my own retail boutique. Thus being a sole proprietor for about 2 years and 7 months after working in other retail outlets.

I would like to know if these years would count as relevant work experience in my application form. Im looking forward to your reply soon.

Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Divesh Gaba

hey rutty !!

I am really keen to do an mba in it management from spjain dubai/singapore

I had applied for the spjain dubai June 2007 intake but i didnt get a call .. I have been working in TCS for 1.5 yrs. I want to apply again . acads are as follows:

10th: 89 %
12th: 86.33%
BE (comps) : 61.4%
CAT (2007) : 76%ile
XAT (2007) : 93.8%ile

I had applied with the same credentials last time also.. but i had applied really late n got waitlisted ... Can you please tell me what are my chances if i apply again ... should i take the spjain written test? when is it going to be held ? are references along with the application mandatory ?

Thank you for your suggestions - will keep them in mind

Dear Rutty Ma'am,

I have a suggestion which i believe is going to really help the school.

1: Go for accredition. This will really help the students to understand the amount efforts that you are currently putting to increase the brand value if SPJ. AMBA or Equis, whichever is appropriate.

2: Since you have set up a good infrastructure in singapore, make it a one yr course. Let the courses at singapore and dubai be of 1 yrs duration, complete at the same location. but the streams be different. In this way, the current infra at both places wont go waste, but from students point of view, it will give them more stability. One yr is a small duration, which flies pretty fast. staying at place helps a person build up mental strength.

pls let me know if you have recd any application no. from our side.
also pls inform me of your full name and the exact date of submission of application.
in any case it takes abt 30-45 days to know the status of your application which will be updated on our website

Hi Rutty,

I had applied for the SMM course a week back.

Since then i have not received any confirmation/acknowledgement from SPJ.

Could you please throw somw light on the calling criteria?

Was I supposed to get call by now?

What should i do now?

Eagerly waiting for your response.

Thanks,
Jatin

Hi Rutty,
I got a mail acknowledging receipt of my application for GMBA. It says that "We wish to bring to your notice that due to the rigorous admissions procedures all applicants will not be called for the evaluation process. However, we will intimate to you in due course whether or not you have been selected for the same"

Does that mean i might miss the evalation as i was rejected in June intake and i feel there were obvious reasons as i was in the last round of evaluation and i forgot to mention most of my details in online form..... does it will be taken into account again while deciding upon call for an evaluation?

Plz clearify upon that....

well your profile seems fine - however i cannot comment on your chances as that is the decision of the admissions committee.
thanks

Hi Rutty Bharucha,
A short intro -
Work Ex - 4 years and 2 months
Industry - IT and consulting
Current Organisation - SAP labs India
GMAT score - 670
I would be applying for the Dec'07 intake.
I had a few doubts about the admission procedure. It would be of great help if you help me in this regard.
1. I want to also appear for SP JAIN enterance exam to boost my chances of getting through. I wanted to know when does this test happen for the Dec Intake ? Is it a paper based test or given online ?
2. I would be traveling out of India in July for a business meeting. I want to know if should apply online based on my GMAT score or should i wait for the SPJAIN entrance test ? I dont want to delay my application by a month if it affects my chance of admit. Is it also possible that i apply online now and if required i give the SPJAIN entrance test later.
3. i read the admission procedure and was not sure when we need to submit the reco letters, kindly clarify.
4. I have a 4 yrs + exp in IT, but i am more interested in doing specialization in Wealth management. Does SPJAIN allow students to have such changeovers ?
Thanks and Regards,

pls read my reply (just below your query on this thread) to the similar question asked by another student.
thanks
