Dear Rutty Madam,
A major percentage of the students applying for SP Jain seem to be experienced professionals.
Are there freshers also who apply to Sp jain? What is the career scope for such students?
Thanks n Regards

Hello Ms Rutty,

Hi Rutty ,
Thanx for replying to my question. However i have a few more questions.
As i have told you that i am in my family business right now, which is retail of garments, who should i get my reference form filled by ? Since i am the proprietor i have people working under me only. I do not have any partner or associate.
U have written in your notice that people working in their family business may get references from their clients. However do you think walk in clients of my retail outlet would be compatible to fill the reference form as they would not even know me personally.
Although i do have a few suppliers and designers who i think may be compatible for filling my reference form. Do u think i should get them to fill it ?

Hi Rutty,
I am a SP Jain dec'07 Intake Aspirant. However i have heard from a lot of people that the placement for the Dec. batch might not be as it has been for the June intake since the companies dont generally recruit around the same period. Could u plz throw some light on this.
Thanks
Hello Ms. Rutty,
I checked my application status on your site and it states " waitlisted as I fail certain criteria required by SPJAIN. " Is it because I had not mentioned any score as I do not have any. I am waiting for SPJAIN aptitude test date. Please let me know if there are other reasons.

Hi,
The few who do not get placed are the ones who have opted to be under the "non placements" category. We do not assist in placing such students.
so far there have been 100% placements for ALL students who are under the "placements" category
Hope I have sorted all your doubts
Hi rutty.
Thanks for the regular updates.
I have a query.. I have heard that there are few guys(though very less) in every year batch who are left unplaced ..may b due to there rejection in companies or some other reasons(like they opted out of the selection process of the lesser paying organizaions).
r these simply rumours or there are a few like that in every batch.
and how far does spjain help them to get placed once there course is over...
cheers
sid
Hi anupama,
When did u apply..I applied on June 24th and yet to get any updates...
Hi,
Yes , CAT 2005 scores would be valid for the Dec 07 intake as we accept scores of upto the past 3 years. Your profile seems alright but i cannot comment on your chances of being shortlisted as that is the decision of the Admissions Committee.
S P Jain, Dubai and Singapore campuses are an extension of SPJIMR, Mumbai campus and selected professors regularly fly to Dubai and Singapore to teach the courses. Other top professors from renowned business schools from all over the world supplement their efforts. Further, as there is a big emphasis on the application of concepts, industry professionals teach many courses.
The quality of both programs is the same. However, the Dubai-Singapore program being a one-year program is more rigorous. Apart from a three week break during the year, there are no holidays. The specializations in both programs are different. In terms of the number of classroom hours, the Dubai-Singapore program will have 900 hours; that is about the same as our two-year program in Mumbai.
Hi Rutty
I would like to know weather CAT 2005 scores would be valid for Dec 2007 or Jun 2008 intake. I hav 92 percentile CAT score, decent Acads n quite good in curicullar activities.
I'm havn 1.5 yrs wrk ex in a gud IT comp. Wat r my chances ?
Moreover , i would like to know weather most of the faculty in SPJ Dubai or Singapore is Indian or recruited globally ? Is there any major diff in teaching methodologies bw SPJ Dubai/Singapore or SPJ Mumbai apart from the former being a 1 year course ?
Thanks
Abhas
Hi,
While most of our students have around 2-3 years work ex, we also do consider freshers who are outstanding. Such students also get well placed post completion of their course.

Hi,
It is upto you if you wish to take the SPJ Aptitude test as you are taking the GMAT in Sept. However we would not shortlist a candidate unless we are updated with a score.
You may send in your application. The decision to shortlist you will depend on the Admissions Committee
Thanks

Hi,
Scholarships are given very selectively, only to very deserving students who have a genuine financial need or are exceptional academically, professionally or extra curriculum wise. Please do not apply for scholarships at the time of submission of application as the same will be determined only after the selection process is completed.

When we say clients we obviously mean clients whom you have had business dealings with and not just any potential customer who walks into your store.
Yes your suppliers and designers would do

Hi anupama,
When did u apply..I applied on June 24th and yet to get any updates...
i applied on june 9th..visit their site.they have updated everybody's application status...
HI,
This is only a notion that people have in their head.
Companies need professionals all year round. Its just that they usually recruit around April- June as most B-schools have only June intakes.
So there would not be much difficulty in placements for a Dec intake.
thanks

Dear Anupama,
Yes, we do not shortlist candidates unless they update us with a score.
In your case that could be one of the reasons or there could be some other reasons as well.
