HI, I am new to this thread and I have a simple - direct question fr the counselors.
In the past batch what is the break up of students placed in India and those in Dubai with the salaries.
My profile: > IT Business Analyst - 5 yrs exp out of which worked in US for 3 years > B Tech from REC - in honors > XII 80% CBSE > X 81% CBSE > Involved in sports, cultural activites, community services.
For the Aptitude test you will be tested on your English, Math skills, as well as Logic and General Knowledge. It is multiple choice questions and we do have negative marking.
Thanks.
Hi Rutty,
Can you please throw some light on the aptitude test ? It would be really helpful for the candiadates if we get to know some details like the number of questions asked, negative marking etc. The best would be if you post a sample paper on this thread .
The online status clearly states that you are in evaluation stage.Evaluation stage means that you have been shortlisted for the next stage which comprises of GD/PI,Case studies & Essays. Once the dates for the evaluation are fixed you will get an email informing you regarding the time and date.
It is mandatory for all the students to submit two reference forms. If you have not send the forms to us please do that at the earliest.
Thanks

Can you please let me know the status of my application vide form number 16276- IT? Its been more than a month since I have applied. The status displays "currently at the evaluation stage". Can I know when would the shortlisted candidates lists be announced? Secondly is it mandatory to submit the recommendation letters prior to the evaluation stage?
Your profile looks ok, you can apply. However the decision as to whether you are shortlisted or not will depend on the decision of the admissions committee.
Our cut off for CAT is 80 percentile, you don't need to take the test again.
Thanks.
Hi Rutty,
My academic details are: X - 84 (CBSE) XII - 95.5 (STATE BOARD) B.Tech. - 7.5 CGPA(Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology) in 2006. Currently working in Persistent Systems Pvt. Ltd as a Software Engineer.(Work-Ex : 13 months) CAT 2007 : 87 percentile
Is my profile fine to apply?
I am interested in the Jan 2008 intake. My CAT score is not good so I'll definitely need to apply for your internal aptitude test. So whats the procedure for the same . As your aptitude test is on Aug 12th so please reply as soon as possible.
i have applied for the Jan 2008 intake. My status online says wait list. How would i know the reasons my application is under waiting list? all i have done is applied online. no doucments sent as yet. I have not written my CAT or GMAT. I will be writing the SPJ Aptitude Test scheduled for August 12th. Is it bcoz of me not writing the test, that my application is under the wait list mode? also the site mentions the duration of the test as 1 hour. i needed to confirm tat once again.
the site also mentions math, english and gk being the core content for the test? wher can i get more information about the test? would appreciate help on my queries.
Although I clear your cutoff for CAT i.e. 80 but do I stand a better chance to get shortlisted if I get a better score in your aptitude test. I read it on your site that you consider the best score out of two
Thanks.
Dear Sauri,

Hi Rutty, Thanks for the info... One more question.... I am interested in Retail Management... but hav an experience in IT industry only.. so do u think i shud go for IT management rather than Retail management? And does the selection committee look if the candidate has relevant work exp?
Dear Sdinesh,
Work Experience includes only full time work after completion of graduation.Article ship/internship etc which form the integral part of the course study would not be counted as work experience.
Your profile looks ok, you can apply , whether you will be shortlisted or not will be the decision of the admissions committee.
Since you have not given us any scores that could be one of the reasons that you are on wait list, once test results are out then the score will be collated with your application form.
The test is for One hour , multiple choice questions, we have negative marking and you will be tested on Maths ,logics, English and GK.
Thanks.

Hi rutty, I have applied for the january intake of GMBA and i have been kept on the waitlist. Regarding this i would like to know how much time would it take for me to know if i have been called for the evaluation stage ?? Secondly how can i know about the reasons for me being on the waitlist ??
Also i have recieved a mail inviting me to the sp jain interactive sessions to be held. Do these interactive sessions have any relevence to the admission procedure ?
As long as you meet all our criteria you will be short listed for the Evaluation stage, your chances will depend upon your profile and the decision of the admissions committee.
When we say we will take the best score , it means that a candidate has the opportunity to give us more than one score and we would consider the best of the scores.
Our cut off is 80 percentile and above, as long as you meet this criteria it is fine.should you wish to take the test again you can , and between the two scores we will take the best score.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks

One of our criteria is that you need to have relevant experience in whatever specialization you are applying for. However this is not the only criteria that you are short listed on.
The decision whether you should go in for IT or RM is up to you.
Thanks

Hi Rutty, Thanks for the info... I have applied online for the programme. It shows a 5 digit no and IT...Where will i know the status of my application and how do i register for the SPJ aptitude test?

The 5 digit number along with IT is your application number. There is a link on the website home page under the announcements where you can click to view your online status. The same announcement section will have a link for you to register for the test.
Thanks

Iam Sajith Kurup, currently working in a company called Symphony Services in Bangalore. i earn 5 lakhs per annum right now and i was planning to do an MBA from S P Jain Dubai. I have 19 months of experience as of today. I have a few questions for which i needed answers so that i can make a decision. My questions are as follows:
1) What kind of salary can i expect after completing the course, in India and abroad as i am earning 5 Lakhs now.
2) A lot of blogs and ex S P Jain Dubai students say that the course is not worth 15 Lakhs whats your take on it.
3) What will be the Living expense in Dubai and Singapore on a monthly basis in Indian Rupees.
4) How good a course is this for freshers and what kind of salaries can they expect.
I have huge respect for S P Jain and want to join this one year course as it suits my reqirements perfectly, but reading a lot of blogs and talking to some ex students have put me in doubt so please clear all my questions so that i am in a better frame of mind to make my decision.
Thanks for rolling this thread. I had given CAT in 2005 Nov (86%). Can i use it for Jun-07 intake? Other credentials. Or do you think i may stand a better chance if i take CAT 2007 and arrive at the same percentile?
Considering its a one year program conducted in 2 cities would give more exposure to the candidates as well as enable them to finish the course in a year and get back to work. This is a great advantage as compared to other MBA programs.I would suggest you go through the course curriculum and placements information and take a call on whether it is worth doing a course from S P Jain Dubai/Singapore.
It is normal to spend AED 600 in Dubai (Approx.7500 INR) /SGD 450 in Singapore (Approx.13500 INR) towards food and other expenses on a monthly basis.
Thanks.

We would accept CAT,GMAT,XAT scores valid up to three years. As long as you meet the cut off requirement you don't need to take the test.
Thanks

The reason why you are wait listed could be because that you are falling short on anyone of the criteria. The wait list is screened from time to time as and when the need be by the admissions committee and students are put through to the evaluation stage. There is no fixed time frame for this.
Interactive session do not have any relevance to the admissions procedure. These sessions are normally conducted so that you can get more information about the course and also clear all the queries you would have.
Thanks
