GE: Duration- 20minutes (18 mins discussion and 2 mins for 5 suggestions) A case study for solutions on resolving conflicts between different departments in an organisation. PI: Duration-15mins There were two panelists. Let them be called P1 and P2 P1: Where are you from? (Place name ,District and state) P2: Where are you working? Reliance Industries Limited,Mumbai P2:What is your job role? To maintain and ensure the reliability of equipment P1: What do you do to maintain Reliability? Sir, We do LLF( Look, Listen and feel) rounds on a day to day basis and take information from plant process personnel to see if there are any abnormalities. P2: What do you do as a part of Listen in LLF? We check for any abnormal sound in any equipment and check vibration too. P2: What are the limits for it? Sir, Generally anything below 2mm/s is fine. If it is approaching 5 mm/s then action should be taken. P1:What is the recent challenge faced by you? Explained about an exchanger failure for which manufacturer gave up his hand saying it’s irreparable and how we had done the job inhouse and brought it back to 100% capacity. P1: Did you document each step involved in it? Yes sir. P1:Why? Sir, there are 3 more pieces of equipment of similar type if the same issue occurs in them too then job will be easier with this data and also it will act as a future reference. P2:Which part of Operations Management do you like? I Took the opportunity and talked about SCM and how we help them in sourcing vendors. (Gave an example too) P1: As we have not gone all through your files can you explain about you along with your family background? (Explained as prepared and was stopped in between) P2:So you were part of the volleyball team, what did you learn from it? Instantly replied team work. P1: Apart from that? It helped me improve my contacts with seniors which further benefited me in getting the knowledge of all societies pre handedly and take a wise decision in joining one. P2: Why specialization in operations? (Explained as prepared) (As there was little silence took the opportunity of giving an example of environmental factor played a role in effective decision making) P1: Why can’t you switch your career in operations in company itself. Why do an MBA? (Explained how MBA provides me necessary skill,knowledge and opportunities and faster the growth of my career ) P1: What are your biggest achievements till now?
